I've got a 1997 Ford Escort with 145,000 miles on it. wondering if anyone knows if its a good car.

There's nothing wrong with it, it's as good as the Mazda plateform it's built on. It should last a lot more miles if you don't abuse it and give it regular maintance :)

145,000 miles is a lot for any car. Try looking for any car with less miles, as at this point there will be a lot of things ready to wear out. Even if the car is dirt cheap, your maintenace bills will be higher than you think. If it runs OK today, it may be broke tomorrow.

Also, the Escort is one step above a Pinto. Avoid it like the plague.

Test drive a Honda Civic or Toyota Corrolla from the same year. You will undoubtedly come to the conclusion that your car was designed by retards. Of course then you might also come to the conclusion that you wasted the last 145k miles of your life in an inferior car.

lol wow im suprised as well u got that many miles on a escort shet how? no its not a good car its pretty much unreliable and a piece of crap , go with a civic < resale value and reliable

I can't beleive how many American sellouts that are out there! It's sorry s.o.b.'s like these American haters that will drive this country into the ground. These people should be drug out in the street and stoned!

I'm just wondering how in the world you managed to get that many miles on it...were you pushing it? LOL I think they stink. A friend had one and it broke down constantly!
