My friend feels that if she doesn't talk to a boy she doesn't like them. She has to talk to a boy in order to like them. So when I told her I liked this boy she was like how do u like him and you didn't even talk to himor hold a conversation with him. She thinks I'm weird does anyone else feel the same way??

Why do you think you like someone if you've never talked to them? If you're physically attracted to him, this is not the same as liking him. In order to know if you truly like someone, you have to hold a conversation with him to get to know his personality and sense of humor. This is the basics of a relationship. Talking. So how do you expect to be in one if you've never done that?

He isn't just a picture. I imagine you see him at school, watch him interact with his friends, and obviously think he is cute. There is nothing wrong with liking him without talking to him. You obviously need to talk to him in order for things to go in any direction (you can stop liking him if you don't enjoy his company). Your friend just has a different way of approaching how she likes guys. Your's is not wrong or weird. Physical attraction is a first step. You do need more for it to develop.

You can like the way a person looks, like the sound of his voice, admire his intelligence,etc. but, until you talk to him you won't know if you truly like him. What if you think people who don't like chocolate are weird and he can't stand chocolate? What if he thinks a certain singer is the bomb and you think that performer sucks? you can like the idea of him and not know anything about him personally, but you can't like the real him until you find out if you have anything in common with him. No because when i was in Jr high i liked this boy just because of how people described him. But if u want a long relationship yes.

I guess it is a matter of defining what "like" means... if it means you are "attracted to" this boy, then you don't really need to talk to him... just like the bees don't need to talk to the flowers. If "like" means you respect him for his brain and style of communicating and that he is kind and sweet and has a nice little lisp, then that sort of "like" is quite a bit more advanced...probably skirting on "really really like".

Of course you do. You know nothing beyond the most shallow physical attraction unless you talk to them! There have been plenty of attractive men I have known- until they opened their mouths. Then they weren't so attractive anymore!

I dont think you are wierd. in fact i do the same thing. i like a guy, i dont talk to him but i know him from Elementary school now that i am in middle school. I also like another guy. i dont talk to him either. But i only talk to him sometimes because he sits right next to me in calss and i kinda have to anyway. My friends dont talk to their crushes. Besides your friend has her own opinion, and you have yours. your not alone. Apparently, people dont know that you dont have to talk to them to know there personality. You can see the way they react to things, the way they do things, without staring at them all the time. thats how i liked the guy, by not only his looks, but his personality.

I mean its okay to think he looks good, but i mean it depends on how you define like i define it as likeing someone's personality though it doesnt have to be detailed or anything a simple line of hellos may do, depending on how attractive they are when they say hello

YES you have to talk to guys to like them. Can't judge a guy by the looks, that's just sickening. He may be handsome, she may be gorgeous, but you've gotta hold down a relationship, which goes beyond physical stuff, k?

Not if you see him have conversations with other people (mainly his freinds) because you know his real personality, as long as you see how he acts around everyone, you could like him. Also you could like him just for his looks, which would be pretty dumb but people do it everyday.
