I have had black lab, bassett hound, dalmation, golden retriever, dachsund, and Silky Terriers (current) and have loved them all!

I think I've had the most fun and connection with my current Silkies! They are so entertaining and personable. Everyone they meet wants to take them home and ask me where to find one. (I got both of mine from RESCUES... Zara's List in So. Cal and Silky Rescue)

Also wonderful companion animals. They can read your moods and act accordingly. If you need a hug, they come and kiss you and lay across you... If you need to be cheered up, they bring a toy, if you don't play with them, they play without you... which is quite funny... in turn, cheering you up! They love to go where you go! They won't allow rodents anywhere in the vicinity of your home, either! ; )

Silkies are a lot like Yorkies in looks and personality. People think mine are Yorkies frequently. Silkies are a little taller and longer. A little more durable, too. ; )

My favorite dog breed is an American Pit Bull Terrier. I love them because they are soo sweet and loyal. They are the most forgiving dogs. So many of these dogs are put through abuse and dog fighting, but when they are rescued, they still have the energy to wag their tail and give you a kiss even when they are broken and bleeding. They are the sweetest dogs i have ever met. My apartment has breed restrictions (which is really for no reason because i have met more aggressive chihuahuas, terriers, labs and goldens than any other 'aggressive' dog breed). Because of this i am waiting 8 more months till my lease it up so i can get my pit bull.

I LOVE DOBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

I dont have one... YET! I dont have the space or the money for one, but as soon as I do Im gonna get a male.

I love them because they are soooooooooooo affectionate!!!! The term "velcro dog" really fits them. I think it sad they have such a bad rap, Because I have NEVER seen a more LOYAL breed in my entire life!

I love the Protective instinct. It seems to be perfectly balanced. You can trust them with your kid, friends, family, even those you just met and they will be fine, but if they ever even TRY to hurt you, BAM, your dobie is on it! And they can be QUITE convincing!!! After all, they are the ONLY breed specificly bred for personal protection.

They are also very very intelligent. They can be trained to do ANYTHING. I even know a guy, that attended hunting field trials with his 2 dobermans, AND placed toward the top often. They are great Therapy Dogs, Schutzhund, hearding (believe it or not), Search and rescue and more! They are also the BEST at companionship. (But they need a job to do or they can get bored or aggressive, Sorry, had to add that for others who might read this!)

I also love thier attitude. This is where the OWNER usually gets in trouble. Alot of people dont realize that if you dont take ABSOLUTE control over your dobe, then your dobe will control you. They have to know that YOU are in charge, period. I love that strong personality. BUT, I can handle it also. Every dog I have ever had KNEW I was in charge.

P.S. I have a Chihuahua too! Great little dogs!!!! Her name is Chloe.

Alaskan Malamute

1. Easy to train, they are extremely intelligent.
2. I like attitude in dogs, they are stubborn and have their own mind...because they are intelligent...though this can be annoying at times.
3. I like big dogs. If I wanted a small pet, I would get a cat.
4. I am somewhat insane and like to get pulled around town doing 20mph on a skateboard in spring and fall...and get some funny looks.
5. I like sledding uphill in the winter.
6. They are very loving.
7. They have tons of character
8. They talk...they ask for water in english...sort of
9. They only shed once a year (I hate that month)
10. They are very confident and are fearless.
11. No one messes with you if they see them.
12. Everyone that isn't intimidated by them wants to pet them and talk to you while walking them.
13. They are beautiful.
14. They are the fastest breed to potty train (2 weeks)
15. They can heat a tent up in the winter and keep you warm while camping.
16. I enjoy the howling, and my neighbors say it is comical to hear it.
17. They rarely bark.
18. They can carry 30 lbs. of stuff when we go hiking/ camping.
19. Balto was a malamute...saved many lives in Nome.

Dobermans are my favorite of the large breeds because they are so beautiful, smart and good protectors and I had 3 growing up (although the red one was mean, I prefer tan/black). Bassethounds are my favorite of the medium breeds. They are so cute and they look so sad you just have to love on them. They are really good with kids (well most anyways) and fun to play with and cuddle with. Shihtzu is probably my favorite small breed although I have hard time picking a favorite of the smaller breeds but I can't have any because my kids are two young. I love most breeds of dogs though, some more than others but they all have their individual personalities. Mutts though are adorable a lot of the time, some are just so ugly they're cute.

Labradors in general, I think, are one of the most intelligent breeds. I have a black male, his name is Major. He is just the most adorable dog and I love him to bits.

He is very intelligent and can partly understand hand signs and various commands. He is very playful and enjoys every bit of loving he gets.

He is a very good swimmer because he swims every day. Because it is very hot where I live and he is black, he cools down in the shallow end. Sometimes he dives in to look for his toys that sank in the water. He can stay down there for a few seconds, sometimes longer than I can.

He stays outdoors at nights and when I come in and he stays at the door, he gives me the sweetest look. It looks like he trying to bribe me with his sad little face so I will let him in. HE IS JUST THE CUTEST!!!!!!

Unfortunately he is getting old like all dogs do. He is now almost eleven years old and still swimming, but his legs are giving him problems, arthritis.

the yorkshire terrier is my favorite for so many reasons. They are hypoallergenic. they don't shed. they can be small to carry and cost a lot less in vet bills. carry less genetic problems. stronger legs then the chihuahua so they don't have breaks. Less hyper than a jack russel. And very beautiful with there long hair flowing.

Rottweilers...they are just like big teddy bears. I have a 4 year old female and she is the sweetest dog I have ever had. I also have a mutt that is the silliest dog that I have ever had. Honestly, I love all dogs. I have also had a Black Lab female and a females lab/golden mix. They were both great dogs. since I have gotten my rott I have decided that I will have one for the rest of my life.. They are so great, and cuddly...
