That's a very difficult question to answer. A well-prepped 351 could make as much hp and torque as a supercharged 281. But the '89 will always have weight as a factor, the old fox-bodies were light as heck!
I *might* give the '89 a slight advantage, unless the Cobra is not stock. Those blocks can handle well over 800 hp...

I think the 89 cobra. Because of all the stuff you said was in the engine, and sounds like this man knowes racing so he would have his car set up to race. That means he would have the right tires and springs and shocks and aerodynamics's and ofcourse a driver who can drive in a race.
