because many people haven't figured it out yet, so the company takes advantage of that. Or maybe they're too lazy to go refill, because they drink so much soda they are way over weight.

Believe it or not, There's a lot of people who do take the "Super-Jumbo Monster Size," even with free refills. Usually, it's for the status of having the huge cup. Price is rarely a consideration, especially if it's pushed as a souvenir cup. I've known people who'll drink down up to 2 or more of those big ones, then get one "for the road"! The big drinkers don't want the hassle that'd come with having to refill a smaller cup 6 or 8 times, and are willing to pay extra for that.

Waste I guess, I'm not a big soda drinker so I order a small cup. But what drives me crazy is have you ever compared the price of the drinks? Seems a small cup is almost as much as a medium or large!!

Odd as it seems, the cups actually cost about the same as a couple refills of the liquids! That is why there is a difference in price, that and if one gets a larger cup, he or she will prolly drink more overall.

Waste. I can't finish a large, have trouble with medium, and never go up and get a refill. I'd rather just have a small.

I guess you pay for the last cup, the one you take to the car when you leave the restaurant.

If the order is to-go, they won't be around to get a refill.
