It depends on how you mean it, what you're trying to say. If you're trying to say that someone isn't very smart, then it's probably estúpido. If you´re trying to say that something someone did was silly or not a bright thing to do, you could say the person is tonto or bobo. Lento also is used as in slow witted. If you´re trying to say that one is a fool or an idiot, you could use necio.

There you have various terms: estúpido, tonto, bobo, lento, and necio. There are others, but I don´t know what you might be trying to say with the word.

I´m not absolutely fluent, but I´ve taught Spanish, have translated it, and have been taken as Mexican since I learned the language in Mexico.

If you mean 'dumb-a.s.s', it's 'burro. (for a man), 'burra' (for a woman).
