Hey, I stuck with my abusive husband for 17 years, which is way too long. Now you don't think I have enough stigma about getting divorced? That's not very Christ-like.
There are much better ways of saving families.

Is saving a crappy family (i.e. the dad beats the mother and the kids) more important than people having the right to happiness? In my opinion, people should feel free to choose who they want to marry, as well as who they want to stay married to. Maybe marriages should be harder to obtain. Don't know how you would do this, but maybe that would help.
Think about it, if your spouse spit in your face every morning for 10 years, and punched you everytime she was in a bad mood or irritated, wouldn't you get sick of it? What if you tried counseling and it didn't work? What if your kids were around to see all of this? Or what if your spouse cheated constantly? Would it be okay then?
Just some food for thought.

There is. Unfortunately there are a lot of petty, hollow people that will not listen even if you tell them so. So marriage has become nowadays, BUYER BEWARE. I would also suggest that more people put more thought into buying a car than to a marriage.

I agree with lucky day.
I used to resent my parents having divorced until just recently. Oh, thank heavens they divorced!

Yeah, that's a good idea. Vulnerable men and women, coming out of the most difficult experiences of their life... AND SOCIETY SHOULD REALLY STICK IT to them and their kids.
And they say Christians are compassionate.
