I dont' think Christians feel they have a right to tell people what to believe. But, I have every right to tell people what I believe just like anyone else does.

Dear Dereck -
1) It is up to each individual to believe or not to believe.
2) In this country as of today all citizens have Freedom of Speech
3) You have the right to listen or not, and to believe or not. If you had what you considered to be really good news wouldn't you want to share it?
4) I suggest to you that it is not Christians that you may have a problem with, it is God. It is His Word that we follow.

Sincerely- Redeemed

No Christian believes (unless something is wrong with them) they have the "right" to determine what you believe. They do believe that they know the correct way to go and are simply informing you of the correct way and why they believe it to be. For example if you here driving down a road where the bridge was out someone may flag you down and say, "hey the bridge is out". They may tell you why they know this. You are free to drive on if you want. They may say, "you are making a big mistake, you will get hurt". If you think the bridge is fine you will drive on. They can not make you stop a car anymore than they can "make you believe". Why be angry with them? They are just trying to help you. when you get to the edge and see the bridge is really out will you blame that person and say, "why didn't he stop me?"
If you yourself believed someone was headed off a cliff I would hope you would try to warn them.

This is rather a circular question. Your asking the question if a Christian has a right to voice an opinion on ethics and the existance of God. Yet you yourself are suggesting by asking the
question that you exclusively have the right to state that Christians dont have the right to voice their viewpoint.

I'm a christian too but i don't tell others what they have to believe in but more of what they should believe in. Religion now a days is referred to as an opinion which is a huge misconception. Choosing whatever religion is your choice but it may just define you for the rest of your life.
chose wisely

It's not our right. Why do atheist have the right to tell Christians that God isn't real and that we shouldn't believe in him??? We feel that we have a duty as Christians to spread the Word of the Lord whether you want to believe it or not well that's your own choice.

Okay let's back up for a minute. This is a question and answer forum. People ask, people answer. No one is telling anyone what they have to believe. What we are doing is giving answers....and if you're a Christian, you answer based on the bible.

It's up to anyone's choice what to believe.....or not.

rights? freedom of speech is a right. atheists tell people what to believe also. and scientists and politicians and teachers. it's what everybody does and everybody has the right to speak. and everybody has the right to ignore.

I see a lot of atheists here with the dedication to convince equal to that of many believers. how is it that so many who do not believe have such dedication? why are they not out partying with their friends? they must get a lot of satisfaction or they would be doing something else.

what is that satisfaction? i think it is religious in nature to generate so much dedication.

Well for starters they actually believe a 2000yr old fictional book that was written by poverty stricken, bronze age goat herders to be the actual word of god. This story commands them to "preach" to the world. However, I must add that the superiority they feel when telling others they have the only way...really gets them going. They're xtians.....ignorance, arrogance and rudeness are all par for the course.

They want to reclaim America for Christ. (scary!!!)

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/7235393/the_crusaders/

What is this "re"-claim BS? We are a secular nation.

"As the Government of the United States of America is **not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion**; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

~ 1797 US Treaty with Tripoli, as approved by George Washington and John Adams.
