Think about it. what are the chances a cockroach goes through your window if your windows are mostly closed. What do you guys think they mostly come from. I used to live in an apartment and I would see at least 3 to 4 cockroaches a month at my old home. What do you guys think? how do they get there?

Hmm... Well, you see, cockroaches are a very mysterious sort of critters. They have the magical abilities to sense where they will be liked the least, and then decided to build their big cockroach cities there. They all get together, vote for a leader, then set about making chambers and hallways in the depths of the walls of your apartment. From there, they decided that their population isn't quite large enough, so they set about to remedy this problem. Then, what do you know!? They have too many!! So they decide they need to expand, and start to build the cute little holes in the suburbs of the building, which means expanding up, out, down, left, right, diagionally, and everywhich way, eventually overtaking the whole of the building. They then throw parties in the middle of the night, and leave the remains of the party-goers in your cereal boxes and cupboards. That's why you find cockroaches all over the place!! : )

Its definitely possible. I lived in the city for awhile and was on the third floor and had the occasional cockroach and other bugs. It doesn't matter how clean of a person you are, it can come from messy neighbors. Try an ultrasonic pest control. I had 2 or 3 active in a 1,000 sq ft apt to be safe.

they can get through cracks as thin as a dime, they like living in cardboard and in paper bags. they also have a tendency to be in fruits and veggies(YUCK) they can crawl up drain pipes and like that water source. I know more about the subject of roaches then I want to as I work in a school lunchroom and they teach us how to keep them out by noticing some of the above described situations. The eggs can be carried in from your groceries. I will not go into how many eggs the female lay but you can bet if you find 4 there are about 50 x that amount.

Probably they take the elevator or something.

Btw, ever wonder how mosquitoes or houseflies get up to those tall apartments? Fly floor by floor? Take the elevator?

Cockroaches can fly. They can pass through almost anything because they are flat.
