My bf and I were having a conversation about cheating the other day and he said something that surprised me. While we both agree cheating is wrong, he said that he believes it is much worse for a girl to cheat than a guy. I don't agree bc cheating is cheating to me! What do you all think? Is it worse when a girl cheats?

No hun. Its the same. Hes just being sexist. Usually guys think this way, I dont know why. I guess they think its not as bad, because they usually have no emotional attachment to any hook up while girls usually want or feel a connection or attachment to the ones we choose to hook up with. I hope that makes sence.

Most people think that it is worse when someone cheats on them than when they cheat on someone else. That may be where he is coming from since he is the guy and feels it is worse for a girl (you) to cheat. Also, many men are raised under the machismo idea that a man cannot help himself and is weak when he is excited and seduced by another woman, but that the woman can resist a man's advances.
I agree with you. Cheating is cheating and is a reflection of the poor character of the cheater.

Surprised are you? He sure slipped up! What is worse is he just negated your opinion by interjecting his own biased interpretation. Just wait until he starts telling you that your opinion is less important than his because you're a girl. Not only should you be surprised by what he said but you ought to start looking at what is going on in that mind of his. You may find it interesting to talk more with this boyfriend of yours as he may have other surprises for you. He's liable to tell you that girls are worse at driving a car, or girls shouldn't vote or girls are inherently inferior then men. You see where he may be coming from?
Incidentally, with no gender strings attached, I agree with you. Cheating is cheating no matter who is doing it. It boils down to what is morally and ethically correct. And that is that!

ABSOLUTELY! There is NO double standard when it comes to cheating. Cheating is cheating! If a woman cheats - is her husband less hurt? If the man cheats is the woman less hurt? No! It just hurts no matter who does the cheating! I am curious as to why he feels that way. Did he explain his reasoning or is he trying to say that if he cheats (or already has) it isn't that big a deal?

If you are the one being cheated on it hurts whether you are female or male. Hearts hurt the same way. I've been a cheater and been cheated on. The cheater hurts too, but not enough to stop. If you've been cheated on the hurt never stops, dims a little over time, but comes back in your memories. It's forever.

lol i agree with u ! it doesnt matter who cheated , gal or guy , its still cheating !
But then i guess guy being more egoistic , they will feel that if his gal cheats on him , he'll feel like others will think he's so bad that he cant keep his gal happy ! while when he cheats , he will think , hes just out with this gal n his heart isnt involve so it doesnt really mean he's cheating . Thus his conclusion that a gal cheating is worse than a guy !

This is how the world thinks. It's okay for guys to cheat but it's really bad for girls to do the same. I agree that cheating is cheating. When girls have sex, they are whores and when guys have sex they are studs. Go figure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, I agree with you.
