This kind of thing used to happen to me after I went swimming. It never did any harm, I just assumed it was normal, having something to do with digestion, maybe gas, or muscle strain.
The problem with seeing a doctor over something like this is that they can do lots of tests, spend lots of your money, and never come up with anything, or they tell you it is something that is very expensive to treat. If the pain "really hurts" as you say you should probably see a doctor, but it you have had it for a long time, I would first try to figure out what causes it.
Write down when you get it, what you ate, what you did, what time of day, time of month, etc ... anything you can think of and remember, the doctor will ask you that anyway.

yes this happens to every one once in a while. u should mention it to ur doctor. it feels like a knife stabbing u in ur heart and some times u have to breath real hard then u get a harsh pain then it finally goes away. this is very common in smokers so if u smoke quit

It doesn't happen to me. This might possibly be the early stages of some type of disease, like cystic fibrosis (where mucus goes into your lungs). You might want to have that checked out, prevention is always a good thing.

I dont know about that....but I have sharp pains that will like, spike through my chest, unexpectedly! It really is painful, it almost feels like I am going to have a heart attack!

It happens to me during the winter when the mucus is all blcoked up & stuff. Its quite annoying.

not really, u need to be careful from the difference between temperature
i mean by going outside (cold) and coming inside (warm)
