Perhaps why you have leukemia is not so important compared to how you live with leukemia. Look at your courage right now. As rotten as leukemia is . .it is evident that it has given you enormous personal strength. It has shown you what is important.
Of course if it were possible you would choose not to have this disease, but remember that there are many things that humans have no choice over . . you did not choose to be born, you did not choose your sex, you did not choose your body, you did not choose the color of your skin, you did not choose your heritage, you have no control over wars, or earthquakes, or hurricanes, or any disaster . . and you did not choose cancer.
But, you can choose how you are going to face this disease. You can choose to fight the cancer. You can choose to try and reclaim your life. You can choose to live in the moment. You can choose to enjoy your life despite the cancer.
I will tell you what I told my son . . you may have one pity party . . and than get over it.
Check back here frequently and let us all know how well you are doing. You go girl. :-)

Hi there, I hope you don't mind me asking, but how did you get it?? Today I was driving and I started to feel really sleepy and I started to see those sparkly things in front of me...I stopped my car and waited to see if anything would change. I was close to a near by Urgent Care where I used to work. I walked to the UC and almost passed out right at the door. I have been sick with different flu symptoms since christmas and have had many physical changes, Wt loss, Pale skin color, Sking cold, feeling always cold, tired/fatigue....the usual symptoms of anemia...but the nurse at the UC said maybe I have Leukemia or lymphoma?? I was so scared I started to cry because I've already had testicular cancer....I thought to myself that I have to go through this again...did you start feeling the symptoms or is it a born thing?? I checked out the webmd.com and all the symptoms were just like what I had.

I have lymphoma. I've relapsed twice in the last year, even though I had an autologous transplant done. I'm about to have a allogeneic (donor) transplant. I understand how you feel, but try to stay positive.
There are a lot of people with our diseases at the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. www.lls.org
Talking to other patients and surviors on the message boards has really helped me a lot.

I'm sorry but I can't answer that question. My cousin had leukemia when he was just 9 months old and he is now a strapping young lad of 12. Stay strong baby. You can beat this.

We cannot answer that question. I wish there were a simple answer but there isn't. I would however like to share something with you. We have a loving God that does not want us to suffer. But, we have to have faith and ask him to heal us and make us strong. We have to be sincere when we pray to God. Sometimes he tries us to see where our faith is. the part I want to share is....I have been healed twice in my life. I had Rheumatic Fever when I was 18. I was told that I would die if I had a child. I had five. I suffered with Hidrenditus Suprativa for 20 some long years. It was very painful but you know what. God in his mercy because of my faith had more in store for me. He healed me once again. I can now use my arms with no more pain. You have to believe that you will receive a healing. It might not happen now but it can if you persist. I too will pray for you. God bless you and good luck.

I'm no doctor, don't take my advice literally, but I think it has to do with faulty bone marrow, and an invasion of white blood cells over red ones. It evades the immune system & spreads throughout the body. But hang in there, technology has improved SO much over the years, and remission rates are through the roof. My heart goes out to you, and I hope you recover. =(

I'm sorry to hear you have leukemia, and I wish you didn't.
I will pray for you though, if you don't mind?

My aboslute belive is that the Lord never gives anyone more then they can bear. you are a stongh person .you have to trust in Gods plan and wisdom and love.
God does not want you to be sick he wants all of us to be well
he has said in the bible that in some cases a person is not well or in one case blind so that the works of God may be shown through him
You can be an example to others how to have great faith even in this most troublesome time .
There is nothing wrong with praying for the illness to go away and asking for others to pray for you as well i hope you do pray for not only a removale of this illness from you but for the faith needed to learn that as mixed up as this all seems this is a chance for you to become a great christain and a great example to others .
i will pray for you .
i dont have your problem but i do have some big ones myself and i have been known to get really angry at God for this but after a time i always come back to asking him to fogive me and although i never can figure out why i have my problems i know that i must have faith .
the best i have ever heard from anyone about this was from another patient in the hospitail who i asked about this and she said because we can while others can not .
PLEASE pray to God for help of all kinds asking for this in Jesus his sons name..
PS with all i have even my soul I promise you Angels are real i have seen one i tell you this is something that i know more then i know this computer is real . please have faith .
i wish and pray that one day i will know how to better explain how absolutly certain i am that Angels with wings from God are real . I beg you to belive me about this so that you may belive also that God is real his son is real and the holy ghost is real and heaven is real so too are the wonders of God .
