Why won't microsoft outlook open?

I try to open microsoft outlook and it the logo appears as if it is opening but then it goes into the minimized view and I cannot open it even when I click on the task bar. My windows task manager says it is running. I have tried restarting but doesnt help. First time this has happened since I have had this computer for a year.

Try start > run > outlook.exe /cleanprofile

Your profile may have become corrupt and it just can't open it.
Also try locating the outlook.ost file on your hard drive and rename it to outlook1.ost.

Then try opening outlook again
