Ok, I know what you mean. I wondered the same thing when I was pregnant. If you were to stand on your head, all the blood would rush to your head, and you would eventually pass out, etc. I knew 2 people (one a 16 mth old and one 22 years old) that were in seperate car accidents and were strapped into their seatbelts (carseat for baby), while the car was upside down (in both accidents the other passengers were killed instantly), and the baby died a few days later in hospital and the man had severe brain trauma, and was in the hospital for months. So obviously people can not be upside down for long periods of time which brings us back to your question. I believe that it is because the baby is surrounded by amniotic fluid, and free floating without much gravity to worry about. I think to get a really precise, informative answer to EXACTLY why this is, you should ask a medical professional, they could give you the technical info you're looking for.

The baby is inside fluid (amniotic) and does not stay stationary in an upside down position 24-7. They move and stretch all the time. It is usually the last few days/week a baby will turn and go head down towards the birth canal as impending birth comes. Tho this is not always the case and those who do not come down head first are known as breech babies.....bum/feet first.

My last child was up side down through out the entire pregnancy. They let me try to deliver her breach. She turned six minutes before birth. It has absolutely nothing to do with gravity.

The baby is not experiencing much in the way of gravity as it is free floating in a bag of fluid, it is like you laying in a swimming pool upside down, it doesn't mess with you does it? The same works for them! ;)

i dont know what your on about with the gravity business they baby is supported in the amniotic sac. I assume u r reffering to a breech birth but babies almost always turn around later on the doctors can massage ur tummy so they do also, because generelly breech births are dangerous unless u opt for a c section

The baby will turn when ready and nothing happens with the gravity.
