I am always breathing through my mouth and it is very hard for me to breath through my nose

Whenever I try to breath through my nose I never get enough oxygen and I have to use my mouth.

Is this a problem?

It can be. Talk to your doctor and maybe he can refer you to an ENT.

There are benefits of breathing through the nose and not the mouth. All those little hairs collect all the dust and particles, stopping them from getting into your lungs. There is no such device in your mouth. And i know personally, i hate when my nose gets stuffed up and i have to breath through my mouth, it gets really dry!

I would go to an Ear Nose and Throat Dr. if I were you. There could be some simple solutions to your problem. Seems like breathing through one's mouth would subject them to germs and irritants more than the nose which has a filtering system made up of hairs and stuff.

I have the same exact problem and have for ages! I even had surgery a year ago,my ENT said I had a deviated septum that needed correcting and I needed a turbinoplasty. I thought after all of that,I would be able to breath better, but no luck. I don't know if it's in my head or not,doc says my nasal passages are clear and he doesn't see any reason I can't breath outta my nose. Pisses me off! lol

breathing through the mouth dries up the mucus membranes in the mouth and does not moisturize the air to stop the lungs from drying out...it doesn't filter the air from particles that could nestle in your lungs and cause further trouble
breathing thru your nose moisturizes the air to prevent drying of the tissues, it filter the air (nose hairs) from foreign particulate matter
good luck

you have a sinus problem, go to your doctor and i think they can fix it, not sure if you need minor surgery, but its important we use our nose to breath because it filters out all the crap in the air so if your breathing in from your mouth you are more likely to breath in germs and dust and things like that, id get it checked out if its getting to the point you need to leave your mouth open in just everyday life

goodluck hun

you should always try to breathe through nose, as it is designed to clean the air and reduce infection. Maybe you should see a GP - you may need an ENT specialist appointment

Breath the way you want. The reason to breath in through the nose is because in cold weather that allows the air to be warmed rather than going cold to your lungs which would lead to constriction of the lungs which would make it harder to get the air in them.

You may have a problem with your sinuses. I would see an ear nose and throat doctor. (I'm not sure if there is a specific kind of doctor for sinuses.)
