Einstein believed in life after death because energy never ceases to exist. Therefor your energy will go back into the energy of the cosmos giving life to everything around you.....

I'm an agnostic actually. I don't expect anything will happen other then my body eventually becoming fertilizer. I really have no idea what will happen. To be honest I don't really care. I will live according to the values that I have. I'll let the chips fall where they may. I have no idea wether or not there is a God. At times I think things work too well to be totally random. At the same time I certainly see no proof of anything and I haven;t had a direct experience...which is the only way to establish true faith.

If there is a God he has a MUCH better sense of humor then most of his followers do. How else to explain the platypus? If God is so petty as to reject people of good values for not accepting him, he is so far out of my values system as to make me prefer hell. If heaven is going to be full of self righteous moralizers, I'll pass.

I'll also add that we don't need a God or Devil to make humans do the incredible and the awful. That's written into our nature.

I believe nothing, it is the end.

Now of course there are Buddhist, who are atheists since they do not believe in the existence of a God, who believe in the cycle of birth, suffering, death and then rebirth. Hindus also believe in reincarnation but they are theists having multiple Gods to choose from. So, not much difference in the ideas expressed by atheists and theists here.

You might also like to consider that one can quite logically believe that God and the Devil do not exist but still believe in an eternal soul. It is also possible to conceive of a heaven and a hell without the need for a God or a Devil. Hell could, after all, be run by a home owner's association committee!

We simply cease to exist. Not hard to imagine. I have religious friends who say only humans can go to heaven because only humans have souls. If that is true, then what happens to animals when they die? Insects? It's the same thing. We all simply cease to exist.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Some people think the brain enters into an eternal dream, but my theory is that your consciousness fades from existence. You're completely unaware that you're dead, or that you ever lived, or that your body still exists. Just total nonexistence. And in a way, I find that comforting.

Brain and body decompose and thats it. Heaven is a hopeful way to hide the fact that all functions stop, and thats just it. No divine intervention, nothing, just infinite oblivion.

There's no soul, either, so we turn into bags of bones and chemical goo. There's no difference between you and me and the dead opossum on the road.

Religious faith is just trusting in the unknowable for defense against the inescapable.

they believe all just goes black and you stop existing, no soul, no after life of any type, nothing.

I grew up thinking this way more or less till I was shown a sliver of the other side.....still after almost 8 yrs I still have no words for it as its beyond words. I know whats next....and almost can't wait to get there.

Nothing.

Did it bother you before you were born?

Edit: The whole Einstein this is wrong. When physicists talk about conservation of energy, they aren't talking about you.

Nothing, you just die. There is no evidence that anything else happens.
