Nope. There are many atheists that would cut your throat in a heart beat. The Hell's Angels are a violent lot and for the most part don't believe in God.

Men have a greedy nature. They will use religion as another tool to gain power and wealth. They will use ANY tool at their disposal. Religion is often hijacked by these kinds - and yes I suppose there are some religions that thrive on violence (look at the middle east for example).... so.., no .., world peace can not be achieved by banning all religions.

THe definition of religion:

#1 noun: a strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny
#2 noun: institution to express belief in a divine power

Even If it were possible to abolish all #2 religion for all time, it would still remain impossible to abolish #1 religion, which exists in people's hearts & minds. Mankind actually has an inherent need for religion. So ... the answer is not to abolish all religion, but for mankind to unite in following the one religion that truly promises everything mankind could reasonably ever hope for.

What about all the rest? After everyone is given the chance to make their choices, see for yourself what God's answer is ...

in the contrary, Jehovah God has led us humans (after Adam's disobedience) rule ourselves without him to prove that we need him in every aspect of our lives (Jeremiah 10:23). What has the mankind do? Create governments that put down people, commit crimes, kill... and the list goes on and on. What is God's promise to all mankind in exchange for our love and loyalty to him? Daniel 2:44 ( a New Kingdom under his command)
What will this kingdom do for mankind:
--1000 year rule to restore mankind, and bring a paradise (rev 21:3-4, 20:6)

So, no, abandoning religion will not lead to world peace. We humans have tried every single thing to bring world peace.. ex U.N. and yet we still go to wars and keep on ruining ourselves. All you have to do is find the right religion, it is not hard to find! is just a knock on your door away! yet religion is not what brings world peace, it is Jeohova God.

We are born out of religion and it would amount to abandoning ourselves which we have ironically done, albeit from another angle. And again that in itself would be another new religion , perhaps a religion without a God or maker, a community thing leading to death and destruction, and the end of all things. We better soldier on and l know one of these days we are going to find an common denominator without a division. We are a product of love, and the one who made us loves us, if only we believe we are bound to scale new heights each day

We would become as primitive as any animal on earth. We would lose reason to live good lives.
I know that I would be a fool without religion, I would be closed minded, only seeing today. However, I live for something more. The reason that i choose to live a good life is because of religion. Without it, i would do whatever whimsical idea popped into my mind, and there would certainly no peace reside inside of me...just confusion.

No because fighting is human nature. We need some way of overcoming that nature in order to establish world peace. I find religion a means to that end.

I've thought about this and come to the conclusion.. No...
it really wouldn't.

Think about all the good things religions stand for, how they always want people to be helpful, not greedy, kind, loving....

Now if there were no people who Believed in a god.. then we'd all be living here with no purpose... So i believe morals would be thrown out the window.. selfish unsatisfying lifestyles would be prominent... and families would be broken and young lives confused.

Religion is one of the steady things that helps keep us on our feet, in unity, and caring for one another and respecting each other.

I cannot sacrifice my destiny for the peace of world. I would love to us to love one another despite of the beliefs. I want peace, and I do not follow religion. I follow Jesus, and there is no way everyone is going to agree. Jesus warned us that wars will be always among us, He was right.

There will never be world peace. The evil in men's hearts and the profits to be made from warring factions will assure that fact. Religion has no place in those facts. They are simple facts. Why ascribe the absence of peace to religion?

No, but it may lead to more international honesty. Without religion as a justification, maybe war mongers would just admit the truth, that they want someone elses land and/resources and they are willing to kill to get it.
