Isn't he sinful for (a) being a man (b)covering up child abuse by priests and transfering them instead of aiding prosecution of the priests. I am not Catholic, and I want to see catholics leave the church and become believers in the bible and not religion and tradition.

Jesus did many other things that were not written, or else it would take many books. Meaning if the bible contained everything that he did it would be a burden on the reader, not meaning that the bible is to be added to

First of all, I don't necessary think that the pope is infallible. Secondly, Catholics believe in the Bible just as much as their religion. I have strongly questioned my religious views recently, and I found that the Catholic church is for me. We read the same stories from the Bible that you read. We may worship differently, but the stories and beliefs are similar. That probably didn't answer your question very well, but I don't think that you can just accuse Catholics of being non-Bible believers.

The pope may choose to speak infallibly when, as the head pastor and primary teacher of the Christian faith and leader of the Church, he declares his intention to do so.
So far, in the near 2000 year history of the Catholic Church, the pope has chosen to speak infallibly only TWICE.
As far as your desire to see Catholics leave the church and become believers in the BIble .... Why?
There's already 31,000 different groups doing that already, and they have yet to agree on much of anything.
And for your information, Jesus founded a church ... not a Bible ... and he gave power and authority to his church .... not the Bible.
Protestants have their own form of religion and tradition ... most of it false ... and built on doctrines that cannot be found in scripture.
Why would anyone wish that on anyone else?

I am not RC, but I will answer this anyway. The Pope is only infallible according to the doctrine of the RC Church when he speaks "Ex Cathedra" which means 'from the throne'. That is when he sits in the seat of St. Peter. The rest of the time he is just a man like anyone else. The Pope does not speak "Ex Cathedra" very often. It is only to make an official pronouncement of the Church.

The Catholic Church teaches that the Pope is infallible at closely defined times.
The Pope is only infallible when he, in union with the body of bishops, solemnly teaches that a doctrine as true.
This comes from the words of Jesus to Peter (the first Pope) and the Apostles (the first bishops), "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matthew 18:18) and "He who hears you hears me" (Luke 10:16).
At all other times the Pope can be just as sinful as you and me and be in need of forgiveness.
With love in Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:15
So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word [of mouth] or by letter from us.
John 21:25
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written
1 Timothy 3:15
but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the CHURCH of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.
many things were taught that weren't written in the bible, sacred tradition and the authority of the church is just as important as sacred scripture.

It is not true that the Pope covers up child abuse. A person who commits child abuse is a criminal and according to church policy is handed over to the police. The police have the power to prosecute anyone who commits a crime. The Pope has never said it was ok for clergy to commit crimes against anyone ANYONE.
You are spreading falsehoods.

He isnt. He is a sinner like all. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Not one is righteous, no not one.
they preach and teach a different Jesus, a different gospel altogether. many churches do the same !!

I guessed the Pope has white hair, white robes, white socks and white underwear. That makes him pure. So he is infallible.
Oops, I am not a Catholic. Sorry.

He has Life Alert.
I would like to see every man and woman, actually take the time to take an honest look at their base beliefs.
Whether we think we know religious or worldly knowledge, I seriously doubt that it would hurt to review our beliefs from time to time.

I was raised Catholic. My parents never really kept tabs on the Pope and what he said. John Paul was a cool though. All he did was try to help people. The new guy's a jerk. He's says videogames and Family Guy are sinful.
