My dog ate 4 chicken wing bones off my plate when I wasn't looking. He didn't choke on them. He seems alright now. He's not whimpering. He's drank some water and I've fed him some bread (read online about that). What should I do? Should I go to the vet? Call the vet? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As long as he didn't choke he's probably going to be OK. However, you do need to watch that he pottys. If he doesn't potty then you have a problem. Sometimes objects such as chicken bones, rawhides, or pig ears can cause intestinal blockages. Blockages are very dangerous and usually need to be treated with surgery. Watch him for the next 2-3 days and make sure that he is having normal bowel movements. If they look different or there is less than usual, it would be a good idea to have a vet check him over. I don't want to freak you out, but I want you to be aware of what to watch for.

My dog, an english mastiff, swallowed two chicken bones before, and turned out fine. Just make sure when your dog pops that there's no blood in it. If there is then you have a problem and need to call the vet. Plus it could depend on the size of dog and the size of the chicken bones. So you might also want to put what kind of dog you have.

Don't worry about it. I don't feed my dog regular dog food. He's given a natural raw diet. He eats 2 raw chicken leg quarters a day, and he's been on this for several months already. It's not good for dogs to eat cooked food/bones, but it shouldn't kill the dog if it only did this once.

I am not sure of the size dog that you have but I am aware that smaller dogs have a harder time digesting bones and could cause problems. Larger dogs digestion system are equipped to handle bones.

Once they're down, he should be fine. Just keep an eye on him a few days to be safe.
