Okay, so this is a dumb question but how do I tell my boyfriend of half a week that I prefer to talk on aim? Like we don't quite know each other very well, so there is a lot of silence. On aim, that silence can be excused by maybe he is talking to someone else.

Before we went out we would have hour long discussions on aim but now it's 1 minute conversations on the phone. I miss those, but I think he likes talking on the phone. I don't know how to put this without seeming like I want to distance myself. I see him tomorrow on a date and later when we and all of our friends are going out for sushi. I also see him at band of Wednesday. When should I tell him?

This isn't a relationship, heck talk face to face, or on the phone, this way you can hear each others voice...If you cant talk to one another, time to find new bf/gfs....

Well, so typically self-centered teenagerishness. Maybe HE DOESN'T like to spend hours on aim - like he's got a life, perhaps that doesn't revolve around a electronic device. So, you need to find out. Ask him if he likes talking over the phone better than aim'ing and then get him to tell you why...If you guys really can't talk about something so trivial as this, then there's not much of anythng there anyhoo.

Talk to him about how you're feeling. Talking to him on AIM won't solve the problem more like delay it. Did you consider you're incompatible? I hope that's not the case but the other alternative is maybe you're just not a phone talker..try doing something social together or asking him questions to really get to know him...there should be no awkward silences if you're gettng to know everything about him but you have to be more open and creative.

If she cares about her youngsters she should be at liberty to make this variety of small change.

Be patient, great conversations take time and it takes two so it's a reflection of you as much as him.
