the house is very old and sort of victorian. I would like to go with something like a "french" style or maybe nature, but i am really open to anything just not blue please!

here is a site with a color pallet on the bottom we painted our bathroom almost the same color as calm air It's a beautiful color on the walls It opens up the room and makes it look even bigger its beautiful with our vaulted ceiling and claw foot tub

The right shade of red would be nice and befitting a french style just be careful of the reds that you choose the wrong shade could be disastrous, If you're not into reds for the bathroom, I would suggest a pretty light yellow, that is always a good color for the bathroom.

Victorian houses used a lot of colours in the pink-rose-red family, along with taupe and dark greens.. Blue was not used very often.
They also used a lot of flocked wallpaper which may or may not be suitable for a bathroom....unless it's just a powder room with only a toilet and sink.
