You may be stressed. Try to not worry if you are worrying so much, because usually that's the cause of stress and emotional breakdown.

If this is something that has been ongoing for a long period of time, then you need to get help from a doctor or therapist. You should consider trying an anti-depressant to help you combined with therapy. I know many people will advocate against taking medications, but sometimes that's the only way to level out your moods and help you function normally.

It could be a number of things....is something in your life not going right....could cause depression.......the winter blahs....could cause depression......if you're pregnant it could offset your entire body which is causing you to "cry" all the time and feel like "crap".........Seek counselling if you're feeling depressed...doesn't mean you have to go on medication....but will help you through your "tough" time........speak to your doctor* Dont let depression get so bad that you don't even want the help* Go as soon as possible* GoodLUck*

You could very well be depressed, but diagnosing yourself can be dangerous and lead to improper treatment, in my opinion. Your feelings could be a result of many possible factors, depression is one possibility but not necessarily the cause. "Feeling like crap" encompasses a number of possible ailments.
See your doctor and explain how you are feeling. I also second the recommendation to talk to a therapist.
Good luck, I hope you find out what is causing this.
