Maybe you should approach it to him on the telephone or AIM if you can't do it in person. I have the same problem, and I never got the girl even though we both liked each other.

Don't tell us! Tell him!! ell him that you want to go to a dance but are a little shy of going by yourself and would he escort you. You can only pull this once. After that its up to him to show there is a mutual interest in this kind of ting.

you just have to get up enough courage. if you can't, but you really wanna ask him, then ask him online or over the phone. most likely he'll say yes unless he has a gf or a prior commitment. just realize that if he says yes, that doesn't exactly mean he likes you as more than a friend.

well the best approach, if he will do something the day that you supposedly going for dance, and tell him you doesnt have any idea whom to ask..if he said I can bring you in,,then problem solved..you can work it out how he response on your questions.
