I'm thinking of a buying a pug and I was wondering if it is okay to feed a pug the same food you are eating...is it true that they only need two meals in a day??

Do not feed it table food (the same stuff that you are eating). Pugs are prone to getting overweight, and being fed people food only makes it worse. As a puppy they need to be fed 3 times a day, but once they get to a year they can be fed 2 times. I would feed a high quality dry dog food, like Natural Balance, Blue, or Wellness.

never feed your pug table scraps. pugs are small and a little hefty naturally. if they get overweight they will have an even harder trouble breathing. they have a hard time to begin with due to their smushed in face, mine eats twice a day about a fistful of purina special diet dry food with about a half of a cup of water mixed in.

I was always told that a dog do not need to eat the same foods as humans because it is not nutritious for them. So go to Petco and speak with one of the associates and they should be able to give you more information. Also, you could feed a dog our kind of food sometimes but I wouldn't make it their usually food though.

Best thing to do is to talk to a vet. Generally dogs should not eat people food. at tleast not regularly. Find a good food designed for small dogs.
