Ok...Global warming is something I have heard a lot on TV, in newspapers, etc., all about. I have always just kind of assumed it was a really big threat until recently. I read Michael Crichtons book "State Of Fear" it is fiction based on truth. Kind of like "Inconvienent Truth" is. This book outlines different reports, etc. that I just HAD to reserach to see if they were right. I was amazed...NOAA, among other organizations use corrupt data to get their figures from. Please read the book and do some research on your own before you jump to agree with the government and media on this. There are lawsuits right now concerning it. I will just include 1 little bit of info:

Please read this site...Keep in mind that their are many more like it.
Read the Book...Sources are also given in the book for all of his info

"State Of Fear" is a very good book to read even if you don't agree with it. The book analyses the way we overlook how scientists are funded yet we're so concerned about Exxon trying to 'cover up' their contributions to theorized global warming. I try to get as many websites in a favorites folder so I can one day use it for a book I want to write about the unreliability of the media and the damage it does to both the public and the scientific community. While Global warming may be true I have a hard time believing an idea so well-accepted by the media. If you haven't noticed already, the media often twists stories, words, facts into statistics and 'news' that grabs people's attention. Global Warming is news everyone is interested in and therefore it gives motive to the media for inventing or influencing its acceptability.

If you go away with anything from all of this look at this-
It is important that we question everything and take nothing for granted. The 'facts' that we base Global Warming on seem concrete enough but are often misleading and incomplete.

I saw today that a news article cited the body as being 65% water and remembered a few years ago when the accepted statistic was 80%..... that's enough to merit a question into what is truth in the 'accepted truths' of the scientific community.

Yes, I have really checked it out.

That's a science fiction writer's opinion. And a "free lance earth scientist"? Here are a few much more qualified people. If they're wrong, why? Are they all ignorant of the sceptics arguments? Dumb? Are they lying?.

"The science of global warming is clear. We know enough to act now. We must act now."

James Rogers, CEO of Charlotte-based Duke Energy.

"The overwhelming majority of atmospheric scientists around the world and our own National Academy of Sciences are in essential agreement on the facts of global warming and the significant contribution of human activity to that trend."

Russell E. Train, former environmental official under Presidents Nixon and Ford

"Global warming is already starting, and there's going to be more of it. I think there is still time to deal with global warming, but we need to act soon. Humans now control global climate, for better or worse."

James Hansen, Ph.D. climate scientist, NASA

"By mid-century, millions more poor children around the world are likely to face displacement, malnourishment, disease and even starvation unless all countries take action now to slow global warming."

Michael Oppenheimer, professor of geosciences and international affairs at Princeton University

"We simply must do everything we can in our power to slow down global warming before it is too late. The science is clear. The global warming debate is over."

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Republican, Governor, California

"Our nation has both an obligation and self-interest in facing head-on the serious environmental, economic and national security threat posed by global warming."

John McCain, Republican, Senator, Arizona

"These technologies will help us become better stewards of the environment - and they will help us to confront the serious challenge of global climate change."

President George Bush, Republican

I could do a thousand of these. Compare the prestige/credentials of these people with that of the critics (a science fiction writer?, a "free lance earth scientist"?). The well-funded propaganda campaign to deny global warming is finally running out of gas.

This article details the strength of the scientific consensus that global warming is real:

It's 2 years old. The consensus today is even stronger.

Have been making my own observation on the changing climate in the area I live for the past twenty years. The proof you need is before your eyes but you need to take the time to look!

As I have said many times, you can find anything you need on the internet to support both sides of any argument. The difficult part is determining which side to beleive.
