You should NEVER get a tattoo based on other people's opinions, ever, you WILL live to regret it. If you are not sure enough about a tattoo to know 100% that you want that tattoo without having to ask for other people's opinions, then you are not ready for a tattoo, and that is not the tattoo for you, it's as simple as that. If and when you do decide to go for a tattoo you need to think long and hard and if you don't want to regret it it needs to be something with meaning and significance to you and should have NOTHING TO DO WITH OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS. I can not stress that enough!
Also, I think that particular tattoo is rubbish, to be honest, but like I said other people are not what matter but remember for a tattoo you should be thinking in terms of body ART and art has meaning and depth a lot more than "I think this design looks kinda cool".

I have Phil Ochs tattooed on my arm (folk singer) I also have "Never Die" and a rose tattooed across my toes, with a tigerbat above the toes on my left foot for Tiger Army. I see me getting a couple more musician tattoos. I have an Ochs lyric tattoed across the back of my neck (Sacred are the scars) and an Op Ivy lyric across the insides of both arms (It's beautiful I would say... I wouldn't have it any other way.) I'm thinking about a hot-rod culture tat, skulls and roses and a banner, gotta pick the lyric to go in the banner though. As it stands today, I'd probably choose "In death as in life, I will arise" or "My conscience carries the weight of blood."

I liked it. I thought it was a cool design. Maybe you can have the tattoo artist change it up a bit so you can make it a little more unique and it wont just be a copy of someones tattoo.

i used to have a tattoo similar to that, same style anyway. but now i actually know what a great tattoo is and the potential that a tattoo can be and i couldn't imagine having just a plain black tattoo with no character or meaning. i have since had that tattoo covered up and it is becoming part of my full back piece. if you like dragons then go for it! but think about the possibility of a much better dragon. here is a picture of my dad's dragon tattoo:

while this tattoo is much larger than you seem to want to be getting... it just looks better. it has character and life. many people get tribal tattoos and end up regretting it later. it is not as easy to cover up a black tribal tattoo either. think about it.

I think it does look big.
I have two tattoos and they are both meaningful to me, one because of what the image is and the other because of when I got it (right after my pop died)
So I don't think your tattoo needs to be super unique to be special, but I'd ask more questions before you go for it.
What will you think when you look at this tattoo? If it is not something more than just hey cool, you should think about it more in my opinion.

I think it's pretty cool... but since it's on somebody else's arm already, why not take that basic concept, and redesign it to make it your own? Then it will be totally unique and yours.

if it's that same size, it looks pretty big. i like it though. i have a tribal sun on my ankle. go for it. don't listen to people telling you that tribal is "out". if you like it, and will like it for the rest of your life, go for it. just make sure the dragon is facing you, like in the drawing. right arm.
