Why do people think it has to be one or the other? Could their be a third option? Or could Evolution be the answer-but not evolution as in the ways that our best scientists have told us? Could the formation of the solar system be real, but not from the big bang standpoint? Maybe something else caused it to form...
Or could creation be the answer-but not creation by a God. Maybe created by another species, a alien life form? Is any of that really any more crazy than the thought of a lump of matter that came from nowhere exploding which eventually formed everything we see? Or a God that came from nowhere who created everything with the blink of an eye?

Not enough room to write what i feel or think.
But so many times i have seen these documentaries where scientists have claimed things about the dinasaurs that they just could not possibly know. Or maybe things about the solar system that could only be just speculation, yet they speak it as fact. Possibly these are things they are just adding to spice things up, or personal viewpoints. Not hard facts.
Same thing with religion. If you believe in God, you have to admit that as old as the Bible is we dont know what it originally said. It probably has been re-written countless times in many diffferent languages. There could have only been 5 commandments for all we know, and someone might have added 5 more that they liked later on.
Or maybe mankind is just a longterm experiment being ran by some aliens from a far away galaxy. And one day they will show up to dissect their "lab rats".
Who knows for certain.

Almost anything is *possible*, but according to Occam's razor, the simplest explanation is usually the correct one. Since we have a lot of scientific evidence to support evolution, as well an an overwhelming consensus amongst the world's experts, the probability is high that evolution is the correct explanation. We may be interpreting aspects incorrectly, but the overall premise appears sound.

The same holds for all the theories we've come up with concerning origins of the solar system, the universe, life, etc. If we are to proceed intelligently, we have no choice but to theorize evidently. Claims that can't supported, no matter how compelling, do not advance knowledge.

To directly answer your question, yes, some theories are more "crazy" or "less likely" than others. For example, it's possible that our entire existence is an highly advanced Matrix-like computer simulation, or that the universe only exists because we are here to observe it, but these theories require a lot more complexity and exception than the simpler theory, that existence is simply what it appears to be - a physical expansion of the four dimensions that began as a non-diverse singular event progressing towards what we hope will be infinite diversity. How and when this took place is more or less agreed upon. WHY this took place is still unknown, and may never be known.

Either life forms have always been the way they are today (creation) or they formed over time by changing from other forms of life (evolution).

I can't think of a third option.

But, yes, evolution happened by various mechanims which are not yet entirely understood. But whatever the mechanism, it was evolution. Just a matter of details

On the other side, there are actually thousands of creation stories that people have believed in. Are they all true? Maybe there are some people that believe that we were created by some kind of great being, but that any one of a thousand creations myths could be true. That is generally not the case. Most people who believe in creation believe in a particular story about creation. There is really no reason for them to believe one story over another other than it was the one they were brought up with.

Yes. Any of those things could be true. It is the creationists who create the false dualism of "if not evolution, it must be creation"
Anything you can imagine COULD be correct...we could be a computer simulation, this could all be an aliens dream...etc.

Except, evolution and the Big Bang theory (2 completely separate issues by the way, but Xians always seem to mix them up) are the only ideas for which we have some actual evidence. It is the scientific way that if a different idea comes along, and has better evidence, then we may change our view....such as when Newtonian thinking on gravity gave way to Einsteinian.

Any science-minded will tell you that evolution *could* be wrong, however evidence shows this to be highly unlikely at this point in history. Sure, in the future we *could* find a better explaination to existence, but right now, evolution is the best.

It is the creationists that insist they have a monopoly on the truth. They are inflexible in the possibility that someone besides the God of the old testament created the universe.

For the Muslim there is no need for separation between religion and science. It is understood from the Quran, revealed over 1,400 years ago, that there is both; "Creation" and "Evolution." And in both instances, it is only Allah who is "Able to do all things." In fact, it was the Muslim scientists, more than 1,000 years ago, who set the stage for the adancement of learning, technology and disciplines in science that we know today.

Allah has explained how He created everythng in the universe and brought all life out of water. He created humans from earth (not monkeys) and there is no need to attempt fabrications of "links" to the animal world in Islam.

definite, the two ought to be incorrect. of direction, the two ought to be good too i think. all of us be attentive to for a actuality that evolution is the actual deal. the hassle is that we nonetheless do no longer completely understand the mechanics of evolution. we don't be attentive to the way it works. Darwin grew to become into on the splendid song yet lots of his info have been shown incorrect. this is only his popular concept that we nonetheless settle for as actuality. the fairly innovations-set of evolution could by no skill be completely understood. that does no longer advise that this isn't any longer actual. It only skill we don't are attentive to it. ... ( i do no longer completely understand the mechanics of gravity yet i be attentive to for specific this is there! ) As for creation, nicely, i think of a similar subject might observe. once you look on the layout of the universe, from the smallest atom to the biggest galaxy, you spot a repeating trend. each and every thing seems to be geared up from a similar blue prints. i do no longer think in god as he's defined in the Bible. i do no longer think of any faith has it good. however the assumption of smart layout is definitely a tempting theory. it might clarify lots. So what if there is a few staggering "dressmaker" obtainable and it guided evolution? i will see cost in the two theories. i assume my very own very own theory leads me closer to a randomness of evolution than in direction of any smart hand. yet i will additionally settle for the actuality tha i visit by no skill rather be attentive to the actuality of all of it.

well yeah. but what are the chances?? evolution is probably true, the big bang plausible, creation is not, and why do aliens have to experiment on us if they have the level of tech u describe.
very good thought though.

I believe that the Bible is true. Genesis is God's eyewitness account about what happened in the beginning.

Evolution theory is a theory...I do not mind people calling my belief as a creation theory. Both ways faith is required.

Nobody has any scientific theory except evolution. And why do you think the formation of the solar system has anything to do with evolution?

Everything you have been taught COULD be wrong
But
With evidents supporting a theory, you would need even more evidents to disprove it and more evidents supporting the new theory.
Unless
You are a creationist/ID then all you need is faith
