When Jesus said "only those who do the will of my father" shall enter his Kingdom begs us to ask, “What is the will of the Father?” Jesus' himself tells us, "for what my father wants is that all who see the Son and believes in him should have eternal life." (John 6:40) Jesus' in his attempt to get his followers to have faith told them, "but as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe." (John 6:36) “Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone is joined to the Lord the veil is taken away.” (2 Cor 3:14-16) How? Jesus' commanded Peter to feed his flock. What is it that Peter is to feed the followers of Jesus Christ? Jesus Christ himself. This is why Jesus said, "my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.” (John 6:55) Because God is Spirit and his Word (Christ) became flesh, God requires that we join His Son (physically) and have a supernatural faith by recognizing (mentally & spiritually) what we do not see...

(physically). And so, when we go to receive the consecrated bread and wine we can pray as Jesus taught us in Matthew, "give us this day our supersubstantial bread." (Mt 6:11 Douay-Rheims)

Please, no knee jerk reactions. Take everything into consideration. Thank you.

But in answer to your question--I believe our "supernatural faith" is given by the utterance of the Holy Spirit which in turn convicts every mere human. It is our given choice as to whether we listen and act on our convictions. Very interesting..Thanks.

Isn't the Douay version catholic specific?
faith is faith..the bible says "blessed are those who have believed yet not seen"...something like that. None of us have seen God but we have seen His works. I am not sure where you copied and pasted that from..but Jesus became human..so we can have a real faith in what was seen and recorded. Since all natural forces can be attributed to God..and since He created everything..I am not sure that we can have anything but a real human faith in a creator..and I don't think there is anything supernatural about that faith.

My convictions are truly of a faith that transcends beyond the thoughts and desires of man. It may seem a little vague on the surface, but its meaning and purpose carry a much greater power than we can possibly imagine. And yet, it somehow manages to make itself known to me in a way that is both real and tangible. That's pretty much my take on the subject.

I believe my faith is supernatural, because my God is.
