Yes. The point is that if you were in a situation like that and prayed about it, the Holy Ghost would prompt you with what you needed to do to make the best of the situation. Either getting yourself out of the predicament, or even possibly finding peace with it if it was the end for you.

Only God knows! Your whole life is already written out. It's not about us talking God into cutting us a break during a hard time ... he just knows if we are sincerly counting on him ("believing in him") . That's the bottom line. He already knows how long each of us are going to be here for.

Some of us believe that God helps those who help themselves.
We have intellects to work things out. We can learn from others' mistakes and misfortunes. We can go prepared.

Yes. Prayer works on a level that we cannot logically understand. Perfect for situations in which logical approaches have failed us.

And yes, it HAS gotten me out of some tight places.

WELL I BELIEVE FOR ME THAT IF IT WAS GODS WILL THEN HE WOULD ANSWER IT IF NOT THEN HE WONT... WE ALL HAVE AN APPOINTED TIME TO LEAVE THIS WORLD. WHEN I PRAY I BELIEVE BUT IF IT DONT HAPPEN THEN IT WASNT GODS WILL. IM JUST MAKEING SURE THAT WHEN I LEAVE THIS WORLD IM GOING TO HEAVEN. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR ANSWERS.

"If you want your prayer answered, then get up off your knees and do something about it."

God is great but he gave us the ability to get up. Whether we choose to lay down, blame everything on Him,and fall or get up and fight is our decision. That is the meaning of free will.

I think a person can pray all they want but in reality it aint gonna help one bit. Oh and to those who are religious please go ahead and give me the thumbs down as it just shows how bias you are.

no. no one should be quick to judge. any rationale person would try to get out themselves and call for help if they can't get out from between the rocks. God doesn't do for us what we can do for ourselves. He's not our servant.
