No, it will distress the mother, which could cause her to turn on the male and her puppies.

My female pit bull had pups 2 weeks ago, and none of my other pit bulls were allowed near. The mother will become highly protective for obvious reasons. So, NO, don't let any male dogs near. They won't help matters anyway. They'd just stand there sniffing and getting in the way.

Whether the male and female dogs are best of friends or not, best to be on the side of caution and keep him away from her. This goes for all other household pets and kids. Let her get on with her labour and just keep a watchful eye.

When my lab had pups, the dad was right there with her helping her clean the pups. I think it depends on the breed and temperment of the dogs. In general, the answer would be no, however if you know your dog's personality and she would be accepting, then you could allow it

If they are mates..sometimes it's okay, but not often.
The female prefers a quite and secluded place to
have he litter. She would prefer to not be disturbed
by anyone , even her humans.
