For those who say that Hitler was a Christian:
To define the term "Christian," one must go the Christian's holy book, the Bible, since a person who adheres to a religion can only be reliably defined by that religion by that religions holy book.
A Christian, as defined by the Bible, obeys the Bible's word. The Bible says that all Christians no longer live in sin. It also says that Christians do not sin repeatedly and deliberately. Romans 6 says: "Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound? God forbid; for how can we, who are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" Therefore, we can infer that a true Christian does not sin repeatedly, i.e., does not live any longer in sin. Now we can use the rules of logic. If a person is a Christian, he does not and deliberately and unrepentantly sin. According to logic, only the contrapositive of this statement is true; that is, if a person unrepentantly and deliberately sins, he is not a Christian. Hitler consistently violated "Thou shalt not kill," therefore we can logically infer that Hitler was not a Christian as the Bible defines it.
I would also encourage atheists to back off of using the "Hitler was a Christian" argument because I can also say the same thing of other evil world leaders. I can say "Well, Mao was an atheist. Stalin was an atheist." to show the adverse effects of atheism. Considering that the definition of "atheist" does not forbid murder, like the Biblical definition of "Christian" does, my statement would actually prove that atheism is a destructive, as many people used the idea that God doesn't exist to justify mass murder.

The vast majority of those who were killing Jews in WWII were raised as Christians, some German and some from the occupied countries.
Although raised as a Roman Catholic, Hitler did plan on replacing traditional German Catholicism and Lutheranism with a new religion, based on German mythology. Apparently though, he saw nothing wrong with using Christians (especially young people) to do his evil bidding.
Anti-Semitism was not unknown in Germany before WWII. And it was very much known in the church.

It is a well known fact that Hitler was insane.
He may have said he was a Christian but he never explained how is it possible to reconcile Christianity with race hatred. Christ was a Jew, after all. So there is your contradiction.

Yes, actually I have. I have also studied all of his speeches, political platforms and writings. You see much as I am ASHAMED to admit it now...back when I was a Christian I admired Hitler and was once obsessed with National Socialism. Hitler was a devout Christian, of that I have no doubt. You would know that if you ever studied the man.
