I really couldn't tell you the difference. I have the krzr, and before that I had the v551. I think the v551 was probably the best one that I owned, although I haven't had any problems with the krzr as of this day. I haven't seen the v3 yet, so I will not say something that I know nothing about.

i have a V3,, it is hard to see number display(yes I have over 40 eyes)but the display is not adjustable,and cannot adjust to vibrate then ring, like my old phone,, and doesn't say lit(background light -only 20secs) till you hang up, so you don't know if the party is still there or fade/dropped off.. It is kinda awkward to hold, when chatting,,, I will use this for another yr and get a better phone, if you use Vcast, it might be great for that,, but I plan not too,, I should of gave it up, but too late now-ooh by the way my carrier is Verizon..
OOh I went thru the option and no they cannot be adjusted to my liking...But I heard the ones for Cingular, might have a few differnt options...
The bluetooth clarity is not so good, so my friends have told me, I was told by verizon tech, it needs to be fully charge for people to hear you clearly?

v3 is better... krzr gets hellsa slow.

Those phones are very low quality. Get something stronger.
