We were best friends for four years. We went everywhere together, did everything together...but we were just friends. At the time we were both married to other people. Then I could tell that our relationship was beginning to change. He got divorced, then I got divorced. He was a minister so we weren't intimate. I totally respected his position and would have never done anything to hurt his reputation. Many people assumed that we were dating. We both would say that we were just friends, but there definitely was something a lot deeper happening between us. One day someone from his church came to him to say that there were rumours among the congregation that we were dating. That night he ended our relationship. He said he had to figure things out. He decided to leave his ministry and then left town and told me not to contact him. I haven't, but I hurt so much. I don't understand how he could change so quickly. I think he was afraid of his feelings for me. What do I do?

I understand that you are really hurt. Anytime a relationship
ends abruptly and without much reason why, it is always
painful. Take advantage of this time alone and try to start
over doing things that bring you pleasure...Respect his wishes
and try to move on. Keep your heart and your mind open to having fun and maybe when the time is right,
finding someone new. Good luck to you.

Forget about him.
There is nothing wrong with a minister having a relationship with a woman after a divorce....There was no reason he had to leave town because of that...he is a big boy, and there is nothing to be ashamed of in having a relationship with a woman...how else do you get to know someone..

What kind of guy blows of a best friend, and possibly more, like he did to you. Have you moved? Has your phone # changed? Does he have the ability to contact you? If he does id say give him time. But if you continue to here nothing, leave it alone, its not worth it.

If he cant contact you, than try contacting him. If he is still like that, then loose him.

Just leave him alone and he will come around soon, He just need to have time to think things through, he likes you allot but he jsut wants it to slow down and not go to fast. He will one day come and find you and both of you will both sit down and talk about how you feel about each other if it is menat for you to to be together for the rest of you and his life.

You honor his request and don't go chasing him down. You move onward with your life. It takes 2 to make a relationship. If he doesn't want you, it won't work, no matter how you feel. You didn't say, how long has he been gone?....you stated he wanted to 'figure things out'................has it been days? months?......

Hopefully, if your best friend is a minister, you are a Christian.
If so...here's your (so easy!) answer: PRAY.

If you are not a Christian, well...there's your answer.

He might've been fighting some personal Demons that he didn't want to include you into!

You need to talk to him.
He can not be any type of man by not facing his problems and talking about his feelings.
