i don't hate atheist or gays, but i'm christain, idk why they think we do, probally some hypocrit said something to them, but part of being christain is loving everyone, no matter what, and i don't try to push my beliefs on others, but i mention him to others, do they think that's pushing my beliefs onto them? if they do, that's not what i'm trying to do, i'm trying to lead them to Him so the can go down the right path, and yea i guess that means i'm saying they'll go to hell, but sorry it's true, the reason christains are against gays is because " God made adam and eve, not adam and steve", sorry if they find that a mean way to put it,but really is there a nice way to put it? It's all confusing to me! Can someone explain anything about this?

Telling someone, be they gay or atheist or something else, they're going to hell is hardly a loving thing to say to someone.
To those of us who don't share the same vision of God as you, the term "Christian" has taken on an air of ignorance and hate, much to my disappointment. The reason for this is the frequent demonization of anyone who disagrees with so called "traditional Christian values," by religious groups and preachers. Preachers like Pat Robertson who advocated the assassination of the president of Venezuela.
I was taught to live according to His teaching, not to force others to. Too often, I feel the religious types, ie. Christians, are more concerned with telling others how to live than they are in how they live. Like that Minister who was doing meth. and a gay prostitute in Colorado.
So if you bring up Him to me in conversation and try to get me to go to church, I will, unfairly, equate you with that type of Christianity, then I'll check my watch and tell you that I've got a thing to go to.
A couple of suggestions:
Practice what you preach, if you claim to love all, then love all, saints and sinners alike. Let God make all the judgments.
When your outside your regular crowd, don't mention Jesus and God all the time. The occasional "thank you God/Jesus" and the odd casual reference is fine, just skip the sermon.
I'm no saint, but I do have faith.

Your beliefs are your beliefs, I try not to infringe on others belief.
If they need to be talked to try and do it with words that do not con-deem them to h**l. They tend to turn a deaf ear to that.
Work it into a conversation, not a sermon.
Ask them questions of What is in it for you?
Have them explain how they feel so you can get to know how they think.
Young people today just want to belong. If believing in something that is false/wrong then we have to show them the way, not push them on the right path.
My daughters boyfriend is a jurk because his parents did not love him...so he wore it like a badge of why he was a jurk..so I wrote this to vent. I will print the whole thing here so you can take the part you need to help the ones you want to help see the light.
Remember
you can lead a horse to water but you can not make him drink.
You may know what the person needs but you can not make him take it.
Belief

Belief is a strong word.
How you prefer to use it is the key
That turns your life.
Belief in God is great and is a true belief.
It give you hope for a better tomorrow.
It gives you strength for a brighter day
It puts joy in your heart,
And will ease your troubled thoughts.
Belief the world owes you!
That doesn't give you a voice be heard.
It isn't an insignia to wear on your chest,
As you amble down your road of existence.
Nor are your beliefs set in stone.
It is just a word, not a way of life.
Your life may be sprinkled with cliffs and valleys,
Or raging storms inside.
That is not a reason to destroy everything in your path.
It is a reason to be good.
When you were born your life was not yet your own.
Controlled by what your parents said and did,
For you or to you.
Remember that feeling of uncontrolled actions.
Forget the forceful times.
Belief in ones self is the greatest belief of all.
Believe you can be a better person.
Prove you are a better person by your actions.
Believe you can trust others.
And you will gain their respect.
Believe others when they say you can do it.
And act on those beliefs.
Keep believing things will get better.
And if they do not!! Drop the dead beat dreams.
The only way to forget is to accept
And the only way to move on is,
Let those footprints stay in the past.
Give your sorrows to the winds of time.
Let your life be an oak tree,
So plant your acorn today.
When you feel all is falling apart
Pick up the good and leave the bad.
Let the breeze of time propel your troubles away,
as it brushes the footprints from your mind.
Out of the darkest hour, new life sprouts.
Just keep on riding the winds of time

I think it is more likely that the word already existed but it was given special reverence for no good reason. Trust CAN be a good thing -sometimes... IF the subject it is based upon warrants the trust it receives. That is there is a 'something' upon which a judgement an be made. With faith there is not so belief that faith is valid is a statement of faith too. i.e. Circular reasoning. Faith is the excuse people give for believing in something when they have no good reason to hold that belief.

It doesn't matter how you state what you believe, the atheists will take as pushing your beliefs on them because it's all nothing more than the work of Satan. Just being real here. And let me tell you, never ever apologize for speaking about Christ, that is what he has told you to do. If someone can't handle that then they're the ones who shouldn't be on the site. God has enough "Jelly Back" Christians running around agreeing with anything that will make them seem ok in the eyes of Satan's angels, it's totally sickening.

Well I'm not xtian, atheist or gay....but I can tell you this...while you feel that this question and your remarks are the truth and are put nicely....they are not....not to anyone outside your faith. They are demeaning, rude and disrespectful. When you mention your beliefs...why would "hell" even come into the conversation? Do you hope to scare them into believing like you were? Do you feel superior that you are an xtian? Does that attitude come across when you are talking to others not of your faith?
I haven't met a xtian yet that I would allow to come into my house or to be around my children. Xtians seem to not be able to help themselves from saying the worst possible things. I don't hate the xtian....I just hate the xtianity in them. Sorry, but that's really how I feel.

I am a Christian, and I DO NOT hate atheists or gays either. I truly think that somewhere inside they are unhappy because their Spirit knows the Truth. I think they are overly sensitive and get offended because of this. I wish other Christians would stop trying to push Christianity on these people, when will we learn that it's not our job the "save the world"? Jesus already did that.
i am not trying to be hurtful or mean either, I have a family member whom I love very much how is choosing to live the gay lifestyle. What is so sad for me is that I have seen a drastic change in her personality, for the worse.

Jesus came to the earth to teach and to preach the Good News of God's Kingdom.
Homosexuality was known then, and that is why after becoming Christians, the Apostle Paul could say, "that is what some of you were." Indicating that when they became a Christian, they gave up that practice.

God asks us to love everyone, we need to let God to sort us out. We need to have mercy on people to be able to receive mercy. It does not mean that we need to say OK to sin. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
