Can we ALL be respectful on here... I know its possible. You know we should all have in common that we want respect, not to be offended . Whather you believe is real (athism, or all kinds of religions) Lets try not to vent at one another we are all humans. I agree there are christians(diff.belief) out there that say things in a manor that is upsetting just as there are athiest. Believers should not push someone into your faith or jude other religins and athiest. And Athiest should not belittle our beliefs. Lets try to find a common ground. It saddens me. There are poeple out there that ask, might want to educate themsleves on atheism and the christians(believers) should not answer to preach to them, or critcize, argue, put blame, etc.. And the same goes with the christianity. Atheist should not impose you facts, argument, etc..CAN WE ALL AGEE ON THIS..I don't know what else to say. But I dislike the battle, jokes, toward one another.. Lets plese respcet one another.... Can you agree?

I will agree to this: beliefs, yours, mine or someone else's, no matter how sincere, are sometimes simply untrue, misguided, mistaken or outright evil.

The odds of any three people agreeing on anything about religion is slim, even if they share the same faith. If those three happen to be Christian, Muslim and Jewish, expect the worst. Understand those three belief systems were created by people, who most likely were athiests trying to con the rest of humanity into giving them something. Respect is not something that can be bargained for, it must be earned. It is difficult to respect obviously flawed belief systems or the people spouting them, especially if those people seem insane or homicidal.

Most Muslims I know aren't ready to maryter (kill) you if you don't convert to Islam, and most Christian's I know aren't insane, even if the DSMIII lists a "preoccupation with religiousity'' as a symptom of mental illness. Mel Gibson was wrong, Jews haven't started most wars, and I think it was sickening the way the Jewish dominated press crucified Mel for his durnken ramblings. People tend to behave in immoral or hostile ways, regardless of there belief systems, because they are inherently immoral and hostile.

In answer to your question, no, I cannot respect someone who claims he's doing me a favor by killing me just because somebody else told him I was an "infidel". I'm not going to respect someone who tries to tell me God's will, God can do that himself. The odds of someone knowing God's will is pretty slim anyway.

I will however respect your desire for less hostility in the world, I share your belief that evil shouldn't be given a stage, and clearly when people degrade any argument into something base, it does no one any good. So cheer up, don't be saddened, it only adds to the world's trouble, there are far more reasonable, decent, honorable Christians, Muslims, Jews and Athiests that there are murdering fundamentalist money worshiping zealots. The only problem is most massive corporate conglomerates are run by a few murdering fundamentalist money worshipping zealots, and they are ruining the world for the rest of us. I don't respect them, and I don't let them make me sad. Life' s to short, so smile at them, it will confuse them.

Ok, I respect and agree with what you are saying but get real, do you really think that you can get people to be polite and respectful over the net? Its a lost cause, just ignore the insults, there are still a few people that have something intelligent to say.

I agree with your wishes, but, really, it is never going to happen. People are people, and many people just will not get along with those who disagree with them. This is why there are wars! This is why 'world peace's is only a wish and not a reality. Do your part, and many others of us here do, and it is all we can do.

If one does not feed the wild dogs, they will not return.

The problem here is this, typing on the Internet is as impersonal as when one drives their car. How so? Anonymity.
People are rude to each other as a result of this anonymity. They say and do things that they would never say and do to your face.

Some perspectives are so indefensible as to lack anything worthy of respect. Abrahamic religion is but one of these.
