First, you need to have an established facial routine that includes a cleanser specific to your skin care needs, and a moisturizer to maintain your skin's moisture balance.

Make sure your face is very wet before applying the cleanser. Use the tips of your fingers with a circular motion and do not rub because the skin on your face is very delicate.
Splash water to remove the cleanser. DO NOT TOUCH your face. Use a hand towel or paper towel to dab your face dry. You can even place the towel on your wet face and let it absorb the water but do not rub.
Only use a very small amount of moisturizer, about less than the size of a dime and gently smooth onto face in an upward and outward pattern. If you feel you have too much then dab some off with a towel.
DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE. If you feel like you are going to touch your face make sure that you wash your hands first. Many people don't realize how many germs there are on all of the surfaces that we touch, including door knobs, car handles, keyboards, cell phones, the computer mouse....the list is endless. Any dirt from these surfaces can clog your pores.
So don't touch your face if you can help it.
Wash after you wake in the morning and before you go to bed in the evening. Imagine all of the dirt that you encounter in the day time - you don't want that on your pillow at night. And, if you are wearing makeup during the day you don't want that on your pillow neither.
Now, to treat the blemish try an acne treatment gel with Benzoin Peroxide - it will help disinfect and dry out the acne while allowing your skin to heal.
One excellent product recommendation is Mary Kay's Acne Treatment Gel:

To hide the blemish, you may also want to try an excellent concealer:

You can also use a foundation in your shade.
Do up your eye shadow and lipstick and don't bring any attention to your blemishes. The more makeup you put on your blemish and the more you rub or squeeze the worse it will look and the redder and more noticeable it will be to everyone.
We have all had blemishes. And, they can be dietary, hormonal, or the body's way of releasing toxins.
Make sure that you are watching your diet. Many foods can act as irritants for some people and cause acne problems. Keep a food journal and track skin changes. Stay away from grease, or too much chocolate. And always make sure that you are drinking plenty of water to help your body cleanse itself naturally of toxins.

Just wash your face. Don't scrub or pop pimples right before you go somewhere. Trust me. I learned it the hard way. If you scrub or pop before you go somewhere the redness and irritation will get so much worse. Oh, and wash your face when you wake up and before you go to bed. Also find a moisturizer if your face gets dehydrated (beauticontrol.com has the best). When you start to wash your face a lot, you're going to get a little bit more pimples for about a week or two. Don't be worried and don't stop washing. Your face is going to get worse before it gets better.

Toothpaste will help dry it up but for redness use ice or if you have any light green eye shadow dab it on there under your foundation for some reason light green gets rid of red...try it out and I hope it helps

Well tooth paste is old school but does work for some. Clearasil may work and a dab (just a dab) of concealer. Good luck and things will work out.

There is NOTHING you can get that will get rid of a pimple overnight. I only suggest what you see on delivery. Lol. Maybe clean & clear or proactiv
