Any word processing program can open it. The most popular is Microsoft Office.
A good office suite that's free and easy to use is OpenOffice

Just try your basic Wordpad that comes standard on Microsoft Windows(If you have Windows). I believe Notepad also does the same. Start>All programs>accessories>then wordpad or notepad
