Well John, I have no idea why your nose would bleed when you wash your face or hands at the sink. That makes absolutely no sense. I could understand it if your nose bled when you blew your nose or "scratched" it.
Make a doctor's appointment and have it checked out. It's definitely not normal.
You're NOT going to die from this. At least I don't think you are.

Of course, it is not normal.
And no, you will not die from blood loss. Nosebleeds... you don't lose a lot of blood.
Don't be alarmed, it could happen to anyone. I believe it's just the winter. During the winter, two things can happen:
1. The inside skin of your nostrils will crack because of outside temperature. Cracks like these cause nosebleeds.
2. During the winter, people tend to have runny noses. When your nose is running, it overproduces mucus, the clear stuff from your nose when you get a cold. Fairly known fact, mucus breaks down tissue, as mucus in your mouth breaks down food tissue you chewed. The mucus in your nose is being overproduced, so the skin is slowly being eaten away, causing cracks and nosebleeds (not to worry, your mucus is not going to eat your whole nose).
It is recommended that you:
Do not pick your nose, as it can cause further damage.
Find some cold medicines that will help with runny noses so you don't over produce mucus.
Let your nose run if you do not have medicines for colds.
Order/purchase some Bacitracin at a local pharmacy, available without a perscription.
To use Bacitracin:
Squeeze a little on your finger (about smaller than a pea)
Stick your finger up your nose and smear it around (get it up there, the bleeding usually occurs there)
After that, try to breathe normally and comfortably.
Apply once or twice a day, depends on what the pharmacist or doctor recommends.
If you do not have Bacitracin, you can use the alternative: Vaseline. Vaseline and Basitracin look the same and have the same results.
Get better!
NOTE: Do not squeeze your nose hard, do not tilt back, do not lie down, do not blow out, do not suck in blood during a nosebleed.

It doesn't seem normal, but I don't exactly think it's an immediate emergency. I'd get it checked out when you get a chance.
If you live in a cold-weather climate, it's possible that the dry air and cool temperatures are causing your skin to dry out, and thus, more likely to crack (kind of like chapped lips). This would make your nose more likely to bleed if irritated.

uh, no that isn't normal. You should go get checked. Excessive nosebleeding is a symptom for hemophilia. Which is continous bleeding. It usually means u have thin blood and is much more common in boys than girls. Do you do contact sports? Because that can cause yourself to bleed easily if u have the disease.

you will by no means lose enough blood that you will even notice it much less die its very possible that your sinuses may be your problem right at the bridge of your nose tilt your head back and firmly squeeze on that portion of your nose have a cold wet rag and keeping your head back place it over the bridge of your nose make sure to keep your head back until your nose quits

No, this is not a normal thing, it sounds like something very serious. I would recommend that you'd either go to the ER or to an urgent care clinic as soon as possible.

it may be normal, but it is not good. I started to have occasional nose bleeds, and i was looking into how to prevent it and was reading that cayenne pepper was used, it increases circulation but somehow helps to prevent nosebleeds, i started taking 500mg a day, it worked for me. It was reported that taking too much would not help, but nosebleeds would still occur. couldn't find the link I read but here is one.
