One word answer....YES!
Yoga is great for losing weight and toning.... You have to go more than once a week to a one hour class though. Take a few classes or get some videos or CD's and some books and learn to do it at home. There are "starter kits" that have a mat, blocks, strap (though not necessary...I never use it and no one in my class ever uses it..) and a CD or Video...
I think I got mine from Borders....you can also get this stuff online, in a sports store or in most cases, right at your local yoga studio...

Most definitely. If you control your movements and your breathing, in time your body will slowly tone itself into long, lean, sexy muscles. (45 minutes a day/3-5 days a week)

I agree with above answer, join a Yoga class or purchase a full body Yoga/Pilates video.

GOOD LUCK!

If you practice hatha yoga consistently you will find that all sorts of things happen. The constant squeezing and stretching of your internal organs, you will have to change your diet simply to accomodate your internal organs and feel comfortable. But at any rate, if you have a dietary habit that is not conducive to losing weight you will continue to have the problem.
