I have a boyfriend who lives in Canada. We've been together for about 3 years now, and I've messed up by breaking up with him a few times and thinking about continuing my life with someone else which really heart breaks him and he'll cry and get upset. I always end up forgetting about this other guy and getting back with my boyfriend but it takes him so long to get over it, he doesn't realize he's the one I pick to be with, not the other guy. He cries and gets upset all the time, I don't know how to get him happy anymore. How can I make him happy, and why is he like this?

You didn't mention why you keep on breaking up with your boyfriend or why you choose to get back together with him. Your relationship sounds really unstable for both of you. If you are serious about staying in this relationship, you should see a couples therapist together to work this out.

If you've broken up several times then he can't trust you to not do it again. You've created a pattern. How does anyone get over a lack of trust? I'm sure he's had a blow to his self-esteem. Like, why does she want someone else but is with me anyway? Think about it, how would you feel? If you really are going to stay together then get couples counseling thru church for free. If you are waiting for him to get strong just to do it again, then do it and leave hime alone so he can get his life straight.

if you go back with him you are playing into his mind games and just lowering yourself. If HE cant handle it, so what, no use living your life for someone else.Bloke sounds like a pussy and needs to get some self esteem/guidance from professional help

um..maybe because after three years you dont know who you want to be with. its like youre jerking him around, if u wanna make him happy stop breaking up with him. he probably cant believe it because it seems unreal because you've broken up and gotten back together alot; he doesnt know if its "real"

he's like that becuz you keep leaving him for someone else. and that's like a trust issue there. he wants to work it out with you but he doesn't trust that you'll stay long enough for it to work. you need to be patient and understanding. work to earn his trust again.
