It just doesn't make sense when you have men and women that desire to rejoin the military and are physically and mentally capable, and are already disciplined in many areas of the military specialty fields.

Yet in the next breath we hear of shortfalls in enlistment, and a projected need of more enlistees in the up coming years.

Contact you U.S. Representative and U.S. Senators.
Share this suggestion with them...put a bug in their ear.
This is certainly a finer option than reinstating the draft!

what shortfalls? The Navy and Air Force are actively downsizing. The Marines are having no problems whatsoever maitaining recruiting levels. The Army is only hurting in a few small areas, but over all they are meeting their goal as well.

Because there are no shortfalls in enlistment. And re-enlistments are currently at record levels.

Besides, if you were kicked out of the military then you would probably fail again if they let you back.

Because anyone who wants to reenlist is obviously crazy. Hey, maybe we should send them back to Iraq.
