I really like to let others know there are options, rather than being sucked into that belief system. And to protect our right to believe differently than others.

Why if you believe in God?
does it bother you so much that we don't. Is it because we truly don't believe and you do? And if you feel we are all dumb and stupid, why do you care, it's nothing to you, so whats truly going on, do you have an uncontrollable desire to hate us, we don't hate you, so what is it?..

The real problem of our world is that we consider other people as ignorant and we want to help them out of darkness. If we get some schooling, we become even more proud of our so-called knowledge! When people don't listen to us, we become angry and loose control.
In reality, none on us is truly knowledgeable. If we really learn for decades and decades, we may realize that what we learn are only information, and not knowledge or truth.
What do we know about matter? Nothing!
What do we know about the soul? Frankly nothing!
What do we know about God? Absolutely nothing!
That is why the man who becomes wise, in realizing that he is ignorant, he sincerely behaves humbly, respectfully and lovingly before all people. He even fears that his self may still hide some disrespect to arrogant people, and he keeps thinking on and on until when he behaves truly as an ignorant individual among other great and rational beings mysteriously created by the One True God.
I come up here with that sincere hope to follow the steps of that wise man who refuses to admit his wisdom and refuses to teach.
Wishing that, at this age of human maturity, we will meet many honestly and nicely ignorant people as you mention.

It doesn't bother me, as long as it doesn't bother you that I don't believe in your God. I just dislike people who try to force their religion onto me. I don't go around trying to convince believers that there is no God or that my God is 'the right one', so I just expect the same respect for my beliefs in return.
It's the people who just can't accept that I have different beliefs who upset me. THOSE people I do hate to some extent, just like a believer would hate someone who constantly tries to convince them that there is no God. It's all about respecting each others beliefs.
(Just look at the thumbs up / thumbs down 'war' that's going on in this thread, and you'll know what I mean)

i feel religion is a weakness, a disease of the mind (hear me out)
religion has always caused problems in society , some major ones
- 9/ 11 terrorist attacks (not christianity but religion none-the-less)
- rascism and mistreatment of non-belivers, gays, blacks, muslims, ect.
-the raping of who knows how many boys in thie church. i dont care what the priest thinks, religion is responsable for this.
-mass murders, everyday in the name of god or numerous other
religios purposes.
-it disallows people to realize a potential they have mentally, they
absently give up thier mental awareness for a false sense of security, essentialy becoming mindless puppets (seeing how they have to obey peticular laws and codes, confom certain way WITHOUT question or they WILL go to this hell and eternally rot forever, but if they mindlessly obey a flawed disspoven 2,000 year old book they will ascend to heaven where they will be rewarded with whatever they want.
dosent that sound like the ULTIMATE way to control a mass population of humans? when the bible was written, peopledidnt even understand what dreams were, im willing to bet practically every person whose "account" is described in the bible was them describing a dream that they assumed was godspeaking to them.
-i feel even if people were not religios, we would still hold cherities and do "good " things, i dont think that which religion brings positivly, outweighs the negative____
true statistic:
american population, christian, 75%
american jail pop., christian, 75%
american atheist population 10%
american jail pop., atheists .2% ( not a typo )
another survey stated that in-jail conversions are very uncommon.

That's not true...not all of us hate Christians for believing in God. What we don't appreciate is those who are trying to push their beliefs on us. You, personally, may not hate me, but I have had many nasty incidences over the years of people who do. I own a store that sells Pagan merchandise and I've actually had a minister in my old home town tell his parishioners not to walk on the same side of the street as my store, as I would suck them in and destroy their souls. I've been told I'm going to Hell so many times, I've lost count.
Personally, I'm glad you have Faith. Faith is an important building block for life and one that can not be denied. You seem to be a very level-headed individual who actually has an open-mind, and for that, I applaud you. However, I would have to ask if there are others in your church that feel the same, or are you in the minority? Either way, please keep a positive attitude. Continue to look on all humankind as equals and don't judge. You will be respected for it, please believe me.

Wow, don't you think you are asking too much of them to be honest and nice? I don't think that is fair! lol That would mean they would have to act civilized!
Truely, I think it is because they're upbringing brought them to it and the break up of the family has a lot of impact on such matters. It is a sociological fact that mixed marriages are not conducive to a stable religious conviction among children. They get nasty because of their insecurity from a lack of identification with their Creator.

I think your question is basically "Why do non-believers hate believers?"
My answer is that some non-believers think that believers are stupid. I don't. I do not believe in God, but I respect believers, no matter what religion you are.
I hope you don't hate me either.
You seem like a nice believer. Some people act like we are the devil's advocates or something though. Those are the people I don't like.

I don't care what anyone believes. You could pray to the Stay-Puft Marshmallow man for all I care. What I do care about is when people try to tell me my own system is wrong without giving evidence other than "Because I know" or quoting some man written book. Keep it to yourself, I'll keep to myself, and we'll all be happy.

First of all, it's not that we "can't;" it's that we won't. Secondly, why believe in something that's not there? It's YOUR job to prove that there's somehow a god or whatever, not ours. We cannot prove a negative. Thirdly, why do I care? Because you people are so delusional and comfortably situated in your unparalleled hypocrisy and self-righteousness that you believe that we are somehow less significant and do not deserve the rights that you have. You then proceed to pity us and FORCE your rhetoric down our throats. Gee, I wonder why we hate you so much... *rolls eyes*

We (believers) were asked to let others know 'The Truth'. They choose to accept it or not.
We chose by Faith! They chose by choice, by science!
Science is a wonderful thing and has brought man and womankind a long way! But science cannot prove everything!
Do you really think that everything we have become just happened? This would be foolish (IMHO).
