I do this. My optician gave me new glasses so I could have a spare. They have slightly different prescriptions, so I wear my old pair in bed while watching tv and when I am in the situation where my daughter can damage them, and use my new ones for best.

it could. but i wore contacts for 9 years (changing them every 2 weeks) then I took a break from them for 4 months and wore a pair of glasses I had that were a little stronger and my eyes actually improved. My eye doc changed my prescription to one lower then the contacts i was wearing.

It probably won't actually harm your eyes, but it will most likely change your prescription to the worse one and it will probably give you bad headaches. But as far as you going blind, you'll be fine.

People with bi-focal glasses change prescriptions just by looking through different parts of the lenses. I just it now myself.
