I was just wondering what other people think is more important in determining whether a relationship would work with someone you've been chatting with and getting to kinow for a little while.

Someone's character is more important, because throughout life's ups and downs, you want a partner who can be trusted, who will be there for you, provide support, and who will nourish your soul. Attraction is important too, but I think when you feel love and warmth towards another person, your attraction for your partner naturally blossoms and grows.
This society that we live in is way too obsessed with the notion of sexual compatibility-- the foundation of a good sex life is trust, love, companionship. Without that, the sex is just something physical.

Hands down character, sexual compatibiltiy will probably work itself out if you choose someone with a character you respect and are compatible with. Remember if you are thinking long term sometimes the body fails and if the biggest thing holding you together is sexual what happens then?

I say yes. Personally, listening to those kinds of people who say they'll wait until marriage and crap like that makes me feel a little bad for them... but just a little (since they are the ones who decided to do that). How do you know if whoever your partner is will be able to satisfy you? Then, the cheating ensues. Always test out the equipment before you make a purchase!
Besides, who says you'll even get married?

I heard this in a movie and I believe it to be true:
when the sex is good it accounts for 20% of the relationship
but when it's bad it accounts for 80% of the relationship.
