my mum has breast cancer, her partner found a lump in her left breast,so she went to the doctors, thdoctor was more concerned about her right breast as the nipple looked strange,it turned out that the lump in her left breast was a cyst, but she had breast cancer in her right breast.i'm so glad that the doctor checked both breasts for her.she had an operation to remove the cancer, but it had spread a little bit more in her breast,so they hadnt removed it all,she had a MRI scan on 28th december,to see if it had spread to any where else in her body,as you can imagine a very difficult time witing for the results,i thought the worst,i was so scared that i was going to lose my mum, thankfully the tests came back negative.she went into hospital last wednesday, had the operation on thursday, and was home on friday.she has had to have more of the breast removed, plus 5 lymph nodes (as a precaution) her consultant said that she should be clear of cancer now.its still a worrying time,as i am very close to my mum,she is my best friend and mum,and i love her to bits, and without her in my life,it would kill me.i have been there for her,a shoulder to cry on,i wont let her see my tears,i will be strong for her.but hopefully the light is at the end of the tunnel now,and i can enjoy a happy fututre WITH my mum! she has an appointment on february 14th to see if the operation was successful,(hopefully it was)and to have radiotherapy, she will be on tablets for the next 5yrs.,she's a fighter!the answer to your question, yes, people can die of cancer but if caught early enough, and you have the correct treatment you can be cured.hope this helps,

Breast cancer is number one killer in female now a days.one out of eight women is suffering from breast cancer in Uk.The breast cancer if detected at an earlier stage say Stage 1 with no lumph nodes involvement has good prognosis. In other cases it is very dangerous.it also depends on the type of breast cancer. If it is "Inavsive and infilitrating" cancer of the breast it is more lethal. It laso depends on weither it "Estrogen or Progesterone receptor positive".in that case it will respond well to certain drugs.Till date the servival rate is not very encouraging

Yes, you can die from breast cancer. I lost one of my sisters to breast cancer. This was long before some of the advances made to treat the disease. I miss her very much to this day. Take care of yourself. Get mammograms, get blood tests that show the chances of you having cancer. I beat cancer of the prostate because of a good Urologist.

Absolutely. However, they have made so much progress over the last 20 years or so, and I think the majority of the people no longer die from it, primarily due to early detection. There is a lot of info on the web about this.

Yes if you are not diagnosed soon enough and if you do not do any treatment. You should get regular mammograms when your doctor says you are old enough to start.
