Will the new Iraqi Dinar ever be worth anything?

When I was in Iraq several soldiers I knew made lots of money by investing in the Dinar.

(I take it you have not been watching the steadily increasing value of Iraqi currency.)

Hint: the only times the media reports on Iraq it is bad news - so any subject they do not report is something that is going well. An example of this is how the media does not print stories about the growth of the Iraqi economy.

Probably not. If the new Iraqi government gets control of the oil, they will trade oil for dollars, not the Dinar.

Yes. The dinar is appreciating pretty much every day since about two months ago. Goodbye all the skeptics. Check out this forum for more details:

Since you used the word "ever" then I will have to answer "yes". It will be a while, many many years, but Iraq has a lot going for it besides oil. Whenever they decide the best thing for all is to stop blowing each other up then they will start to see some prosperity.

If it gets to be used again as currency or exchange attribute in their country. Some want the US dollar to be installed there, it could launch some portfolios and campaigns about art dealership and fashion collections. The idea is simple but seems attractive, especially to russians and of course british investors. The idea of american clothes and british antiques made in this zone does attract the imagination.
