It feels as if I am praying for a member of my family, which in truth he is. I quess that with this just as it was when i lost my mom, you want forget but it will get easier to handle with time. Please keep us in your prayers. Thanks

This may help you feel a little bit better it did me.This is a poem I got from a magazine in 1978 when my dog died,I'm 43 now and lost one on January 15 07 and I always go get this poem out when I lose a pet. BY: Jane L. Sears. It is titled My Gift To Jesus.I wish someone had given little Jesus a dog as loyal and loving as mine,to sleep by His manger and gaze in His eyes and adore Him for being divine. As out Lord grew to manhood,His own faithful dog would havefollowed him all though the day while He preached to the crowds and made the sick well and knelt in the garden to pray.It is sad to remember that Christ went away to face death alone and apart, with no tender dog following close behind to comfort it's Masters heart. And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn how happy He would have been as his dog kissed His Hand and barked its delight for the One who died for all men! Well the Lord has a dog now ; I just sent him mine, the old pal so dear to me.And I smile through my tearson this first day alone knowing THEY'RE in Eternity! I hope this brings you some comfort it did in 1978 and it still does today.Yes I believe dogs are in heaven.Waht a Great God we have and He knows how we love them sooooo much here on earth why would He not let them be there in heaven to reunite us again oneday.Time will always help but honestly the pain comes back occasionaly but just think of wher your sweet baby is and think nomore pain or hurting or missing you ,she is having a blast up there .God bless you and you are in my thoughts and prayers.mitzic63@yahoo

It is a true loss. Bridgett had a special relationship with you and probably had meaning related to your own family. You will never forget her, but the feelings will dampen. I have lost a few over the years.

The best thing to do is to emmerse yourself in some activity you like doing. Go and get a picture of your dog enlarged and stand it in a picture frame. When you look at it only think of the good times. Time will heal your hurt. I lost my dog after 15 years and it took about 9 months and a new dog to really heal me. But now I just think of the good times with her and the new times with my new dog.

I'm very sorry for your loss. The loss of a pet is like the loss of a family member. I hope your and your other dog keep each other company and help each other through this tough time.

Eventually the hurt will go away, but you will need to live through each one. I have lost many dogs and it never gets easier. You loved her and that's what counts.
There are 5 stages to grieving. You need to go through each one.
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance
