i think if you really grasp the concept of who Christ is then you should be COMPLETELY devoted to him. we are talking about G-O-D!

this is why i think that most people who call themselves christians are just full of it. being a real christian is a big devotion.

To be Christian means to follow Christ, to strive to become Christ-like, to love your God with all your heart, soul and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself. Simple words..indeed. Yet these few words encompass multidimensional relationships.

We must attain a solid and loving relationship between ourselves and our God. To do this we must embrace the teachings of His Son, for He and the Father are One.In this relationship we must accept the Grace that God gives us through the perfect sacrifice that His Son made on our behalf. it is only through the Son that we may truly come to know God and share in the relationship that He offers to us.

The second dimensional relationship that we need to embrace is the relationship that we have with our own selves. We must strive to become Christ-like in our thinking, doing, and loving. This is the relationship that most of us find difficult. Even Jesus in the Garden displayed some polarity or duality when He said If this cup could pass but ultimately surrendered His will to the Father. Our duality between spirit and the flesh is guaranteed to be with us until our last breath, but as Paul puts its, He has run a good race......So we can look to Christ and his teachings as our Role Model and road map for running the good race.

The third dimensional relationship that we must embrace is our relationship to each other and the world. If we are to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, then how can we have wars, poverty, violence, and unnecesary suffering. Clearly we all need a lot of work in this area. Christ commands us to clothe the naked , feed the hungry, tend to the sick, visit those in prison, and bury the dead. That is a long list but in His short 33 years on this planet He did all these things and much more, He gave of Himself, so that others may give of themselves to others. It is truly the only Gift I know of that to this day keeps on giving! How much more Perfect of a Love could there possibly be???

The devotion required to be a Christian is to be satisfied with Christ finished work on the Cross. It was good enough for GOD. It simply has to be good enough for you. Now I do agree that once you start walking with Jesus that you would naturally be sold out totally. I know I am. I think many people are so influenced by the world that they can not see what an unbelievable honor it is to be a child of GOD.

Admit to God you're a sinner, repent and turn away from your sins. Believe that Jesus is God son and he sent him to save everyone. Confess your faith in Jesus as your savior and your lord.

total devotion to Jesus Christ is required.
not all who call themselves "christians" are true Christians, but pseudo-christians who have adopted the name for their own earthly purposes.
God knows the difference.

And I think you should work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, and let the judgment of others' hearts stay with God.
