I have a suggestion or an answer that is good but not a complete or total answer to all the problems facing these people. I recommend teaching classes on square foot gardening it is practially cost free and requres little more than book or information purchace and some volunteer time,
Two 4ft by 8ft growing areas will create adequit food for an adult or child or an auxhillary food supply in an urban area or roof top garden. The advantage of square foot gardening is that initial expenses are very low and by using home made compost fertilizer maintaince can be achieved by scavaging and elimlnate the cost of purchacing commercial fertilizer. A second advantage of composting is that garbage in the streets will become a valuable asset and public sanitation will be improved. After the initial start up the system will be self maintaining in that no further outside assistance will be necessary from government or missionary agencies and a healthy self sustaining food supply will be established that will eliminate the need for much valuble aid money having to be spent for food. I think the major cost will be some sort of fencing to keep animals etc away from the square foot growing pods this can proberly be done with local or scavaged materials and labor at little or no cash outlay. I am going to send some of the sq foot gardening books and charts to some Salvation Army Missionaries in Africa and see if it will help provide a food source in their areas of ministry

A good community service project relating women and children is to go work in an orphanage or a clinic. They abound in the third world-ie Haitti, Dominic Republc.
Hope that helps. God Bless

First of all I want to correct you that bangladesh garment factories do not hire child labour but other industries like motor vehicle workshop, welding workshop, mechanical fitting workshop, small manufacturing factory even in the shops and houses randomly hire child labour. Most of these children's parents can't afford their food let alone education. Parents bring their kids to the worksop only to work for food in bengali it called pete vate and those children are better known as a pichhi Now if you stop them to work where they will get the food and cloth from I was a mechanic there I always feel for those pichhis but because of corruption and insecurity can do nothing and also I offer you to go to dhaka and talk with the couple of pichhis personally and meet their parents you will found that both of them are proud of themselves. Another issue is OH&S 98% of the industries do not maintain occupational health and safety standard and those kids are working there. With these kids there are hips of success stories infront of them like work in supirior position and become a workshop owner and they dreamt that. Another reason is school can not keep them because of an uneffective and unattractive curriculam and teachers beating habbit. Gov authorities are so corrupt that it's beyond your imagination besides it's a social problem gov can do nothing about it. For your secondpart if somehow child labor was eliminated completely it would not effect country's economy at all but it would create other various social problem like stealing ,hijacking, robbery, killing, and some them would become private killer and some of them would become suicidebomber cause they will pay lot than you and me. Before finishing don't mix two things togethar child labour and garments industry. Most of the bangladeshi garment's factories employ women because children's are not suitable and perfect like women I don't know where you get this theory that bangladeshi garment's industry employ children I think you have read a corrupt journalist's report.

A couple of friends of mine just got back from Zambia this month. They spent 4 months over there starting a coffee shop for the orphans.
They rented a little shop in a smallish town. They purchased an oven/stove, where they can cook things like pizza and hot chips. They have a kettle so they can make coffees for people and a blender for milk shakes etc.
The owner of the property gave my friends a discount on the rent when they told him what they were doing.
It cost them around $2000 to get the water and electricity put on in the shop.
My friends trained the orphans of this town to make the pizza and coffe etc, from scratch. All proceeds from the shop go to helping the orphans of this town, and some nearby towns.
They are now back in Australia, but they are trying to get more funding to go over at the end of the year to do start another shop like this in another town.
If you cannot do something on this scale (which is totally understandable) then maybe you could try holding a charity event to fund an organisation like this.
My friends who did this are involved in a non-profit organisation who hold "African Parties".... they get a DJ to play African music, they make heaps of African food.... The African men and women get together and dance... people pay money to come watch and eat.
They are great events. People love to learn more about the culture.
Hope this could help you.

Sustainable community development. Do not impose development on poor countries. Our modern conception of development does not work. It has to be more communal. Plots of land are divided, some grow food, others raise livestock, some educate, etc. This is the only tried and true method to ensure communities can be sustainable once intervention leaves.

In this matter, we need a strong campaign regarding to woman and children's, as a project we should give them a true love, love from God which is unconditional LOVE, why woman is from one of the ribs near the heart of a man, why near the heart simply mean we must LOVE them, for the children let them to feel that are child there right as a child, not by abusing there right.

Rotary clubs do offer help in this area. I believe they may need special direction. I also believe that co-operative education projects should be enlisted to provide further assistance in this area.
