My right eye feels like I have an eyelash in it and it is hard to focus. I wonder if I need to just give my eyes a little longer to adjust.

Mine felt like that too. Give it some time and your eyes may adjust. At least for your sake, I hope they do. Ihad to toss mine out because they hurt so bad. I'm back in glasses now.

usually when you have contacts and you feel like you have an eyelash in your eye, that means that your contact is in backwards. Some contacts have a letter or number on the bottom of the contact that helps you figure it out, but some don't. If yours don't then take your contact out and set it on the tip of your index finger. Hold it up to the light and see if it is round or if the sides are pointing out. If the sides are pointing out, turn it inside out and try putting it back in again. If that doesn't help, go back to your eye dr. and have them show you how to do it right, it takes some time to get used to it, but I have had contacts for 2 years now and I can put them in and take them out in seconds where it used to literally take me 1/2 an hour every morning and about 15 minutes at night. Just practice!

For some people it takes a couple of days for there eyes to adjust as for others they feel fine the second they get put it. But with your right eye make sure there isn't really anything in it because if you scratch your eye you wont be able to ware contacts at all, so its always a good idea to check and change and clean them.

give it a few days, but remember to follow your doctors orders to the T. Also if your contacts are hard it takes a bit longer to get used to them.

use your eye drops it will help with the eye lash feeling and go look in the mirror you may have an eye lash :)

also might be an eye booger wrapped around the edge of the contact, just remove your contact and rinse it then you can stick it back in, good tip any time they feel weird.

good luck!

Don't worry ,your eyes need to adjust your Dr. must have told you that . I wore contacts for many years and my eyes were so used to them that I couldn't even feel an eyelash in my eye unless it was under the lens.

I am 13 and i got contacts a year ago I remember it feeling a little weird. But not that bad. You should take them out rinse them off and put them back in. I hope it will get better for you! Contacts are much better than glasses! also make sure that the contact is shaped like a bowl.

Maybe your having some sort of reaction to the substance in the contacts. Make sure your contacts let enough oxygen through the lenses because the eye is made of cells (no oxygen can cause a pressure buildup), and check with your optometrist / physician.

Either you can give some time to adjust and if its not normal soon than the prescribed number might be wrong. You can check with your doctor or the place where you got your prescribed contacts from. Good Luck!

Mine felt like they had an eyelash in it, and it was a tear in the contact. I had to go back twice before they got the fit right, but when they did, it felt right from the first second I put them in.

When it was hard to focus, they had given me contacts that were too strong for me. Once I convinced them to return to my original prescription that I had BEFORE the contact exam, the contacts were perfect!!
Take them back!!

i had this problem too when i got my contacts...... they were not comfortable and felt like something was on them.... 1st go to your doctor evidently mine didnt fit me right because they were too small so i got new ones... another thing to try is take them out, spray with your solution for 10 sec each side then rub and spray 10 sec finally put them back in sometime i have to do that every so often... you might need to get use to them too if none of these work if its your first time then well u mite need to wear them a few days... i hope this helps always rember your optomitrist has the answers to everything :]
